God. Sound test done and it’s already the best tone I’ve ever had. Cuts thru like a knife, loving the grit! Ander.

oh nice! Giving up on the Marshall or getting your own head eh? Time to start working on convincing you to get a Barefaced cab Joe 🙃

Right, first gig with the Capo coming up tonight… excited to try this out as I haven’t had a chance to even plug it in with the band yet! set up for grit on A side, full distortion as I can on B side, gain almost maxed out but loving it (B>A) For everything else, face melting fuzz courtesy of the OFF1
  4. Heeeey! Regrettably I didn’t get ahold of the diamond. My dad had surgery scheduled etc etc so it all felt a bit too tense to indulge in meeting folk for gear… having said that I did end up with the Lusithand Alma compressor and I’m loving it. It’s essentially a Diamond with a blend control and an internal voltage doubler that ends up operating to up to 32v ish, lots of headroom and tone enhancements. I’ve had it for a good couple months and it stays on always! I will say this project is finally finished now…!

Ah I’m loving it! I’ve only played it for like an hour tops, but it seems very easy to dial in, whatever you do with it it sound great! Definitely an always on pedal, I have to play around more with the EQ to squeeze the side B etc
  6. this is true. I keep my WD800 flat everywhere and just so love it, cuts through both my bands nicely.
  7. The above looks stunning! There’s also low profile xlr connectors in Amazon similar to those. BEHOLD!!!! FINALLY!!!! PEDALBOARD COMPLETE! Fitting is absolutely perfect and following the principles of my previous TightBoards™️ 😂 the picture shows the pedals over the edges but it must be the picture/angle PS: The Capo is…. 🤤

Ahar! I was considering whether I needed to put it even before the compressor...! I took it before comp this practise and it went phenomenal but also sounds all out even if I roll the volume down lol In the end as you suggest it'll be best to try myself with all of them out of the board Joe, I'm just lazy about it. If this doesn't suck out tone etc, it works, and it's similar as my option A of having OFF1 and Broadcast on the pre loop, compressor on the main input. Will give it all a shot, thanks! Ander.

Hmmm! Have you tried it in band setting? Does the OFF1 do okay or does it suck out the tone? Saying this as fuzzed normally should for ‘firstest’ in the signal chain haha my idea is pretty much same as hours, sending best clean signal in the input, pre for gains and post for effects.

Hey gang... pretty much cross posting from the 'show us your pedalboard' thread with apologies but maybe the audience here could help me... This is how things are looking like now... Would love to lock it in with the Capo's pre/post DI's to not have to play around with the cabling regardless of me being in the studio or just gigging etc... Killer pedalboard if you ask me!
  11. @MrDinsdale Happy to have dragged you into this downward spiral Joe lol I am one day far from getting my cherished Capo, and I have a couple questions regarding pre/post loops and the order of the OFF1 fuzz etc... I may have to post on the Capo DI thread but thought some fine folk may be able to help here... Recap: the Capo is a multi gain stage preamp that has pre/post loops and pre/post DI's. I'd like to cable things in a way that the Pre DI is clean, and the Post DI is all processed with the rest of the pedals... My options: a) Tuner > ditto (both always off except if I'm dialing tones or tuning) > Compressor > input of the Capo, with the OFF1 + Broadcast (used to thicken up a bit, not distort) on the Pre loop, or b) Tuner > Ditto > input of the capo, with OFF1 Fuzz + Broadcast + Compressor on the pre loop (would that make any sense??) c) Forget about having a clean DI out and doing tuner > ditto > OFF1 fuzz into the input, Broadcast on the pre loop d) forget about the pre loop and clean DI and do tuner > ditto > OFF1 Fuzz, compressor > broadcast into the input In all cases the post loop would go with delays and chorus... thoughts? PS: I'm moving on the Moog Minifooger chorus, brilliant, and admittedly the Red Witch does less tones, but enough for me and fits better size/orientation wise.
  12. the black ones? They’re Mastro Valvola’s OFF1 and LEM respectively… and they work amazing together! the OFF1 is an octave-fuzz-filter and the LEM is a multi delay with trails octaves fifths and god knows what more… loving every bit of them, they can get VERY synthy! Also both can do with expression pedal which is quite lush, I have it to control the filter at the moment, very much a way/volume choke.
  13. Hm. The Capo should be arriving this week; I’ve also decided to move on the Moog, tremendous cool chorus pedal but more than I need. It’ll be replaced by the Red Witch Empress Chorus… soothing to my OCD and that of some folk in this fine parish lol how it’s going how it should end… (what is end, anyways?):
  14. Just completed another deal with David - I wasn't expecting to part trade but I knew that if David offers a bass, it'll be a) as described and b) a piece worth studying! In this instance I took home his Squier CV Precision in a gorgeous Fiesta Red - kept well for 14 years of bass, well adjusted and presented. More important than that, a great opportunity to catch up with who has become a great friend thanks to this community! I consider myself lucky to deal with David and so should anyone here! Enjoy the bass buddy, see you next time! (if Fender keeps being Fender, it is likely there'll be more ) Ander.

  16. Original fender tort pickguard available too if needed.
  17. You're right Chris! The board is a very rich tasty colour in person, flowy streaks and all. Plus, look at the back of the neck... You don't often get this from Fender! PS: when I took it to the studio, the engineer Andy McLeod asked me if it was a Custom Shop after opening it and having a play - this can be verified with the fold at Southsea Sound in Southsea
  18. Go on David, I know you like a good vintage-mint Fender... Plus, you could call it Karmic Justice since I took yours!
  19. Ha! and it would be in 95% of the times - allegedly helps a ton on a boomy/badly EQ'd stage - but I haven't tried that yet or taken it out of the house I guess a nice to have redundancy if a) boomy stage and b) can't use my Mesa head (which does have HPF to the same use). Sound wise, I was really, really considering waiting for the 24v version (with a 9v input) but I can use 18v on this or have a doubler for 24v using a 12v from my PSU - the more V's the more headroom and cleaner. I was also thinking on waiting for the 24v since it has three gain modes (lo-mid-hi) whilst mine 'only' has lo-mid. Now into the tone and distortion, I do like it - I find I'll most likely use it as a lo gain thickener, and rely on the Capo (when it comes) for the distortion and the OFF1 for fuzz - having said that, and until the Capo comes, the Broadcast has a ton of gain! Very crunchy and vintage classic style, but saturates to fuzz easily from 11/noon on the high gain mode - as a distortion, having it on low gain mode really works for me, with the gain trim between noon and 2 o'clock I'd say. Happy with it as a tone thickener (long term) and distortion (short term/redundancy/different classic taste).
  20. Now wired… I do have to say these rockboards have a better quality than Pedaltrain IMO - even the sticky sides of the Velcro dare I say. it just all fits to the very edges with no pedals hoovering over the board, my OCD is in paradise. Turns out, all pedals work after my cabling in. I love a good CS6 truetone with a kettle lead but these Harley Benton power supplies are amazing. 2 variable 9/12/18v outs, 8 isolated outs and dead silent for £60.
  21. Hey guys, I’ll be dropping out of the bash - toying with some gear at home to keep me busy but I’ve had some recent painful news and just need some family time if that’s okay - there’ll always be next year…!
  22. Loose draft with the capo missing… I can flip the capo/broadcast up and bring the modulation down but odds are I will use the gain stages more than modulation, and the capo can do with the patchbay if I feel like it for the DI’s but also I’ll most times use the DI from the amp… PSU goes of course under 😅
  23. Yes! I had the AO 60s Jazz too and loved it, but this Precision has right out been the nicest P that's gone through my hands! Notes taken on the cat coloured bass lol I had an Alpher that could've done that but that was before the cat!
