  1. Hey gang! I'll start by saying I've often been a bass brand snob, but life has taught me there's more than gear that I need money for, and recently I've gone around selling lots of stuff and downsizing. For context, it's been rare to see me buy a bass of less than £1k so this is a nice turn of events - and boy I've been missing out...! Recently I came across a Fender Precision MIM in Lake Placid Blue for £450 that I modded for just some bits and trades and now I have a very very very killer/competent bass with the EMG GZR P for about £520 net... After the cull and sorting money for some projects, wife invited me to 'keep the change and buy yourself something nice' - of course, it was gonna be a bass... I've just ordered it this morning so I'm hoping that forum will help me whilst I spend the week looking out the window - the reward? Pictures and a review of the Sire V5R in Mild Green (2nd Gen). It's in budget and didn't want to wait around or drive to collect etc, £399 free shipped via Thomann. I'm a sucker for pastel colours and even if I already have this on my Stingray, I was more interested in this combo rather than Natural/Sunburst. Having a Stingray and a Precision it made sense to get a Jazz for my 3rd wall hanger, and I'm set to myth bust that 'Sire is as good as MIA Fender / Better than MIM Fender' that I've been hearing for so long . Not expecting a miracle, just something to compliment the tones and playability of the Precision on stage whilst the Stingray covers all the recording ground and nice/safe gigs. I've not seen a lot about this particular bass, but rosewood fingerboard with blocks & bound, alongside passive electronics and roasted neck... Yep, way to go. Again, rosewood is the only board of interest I didn't have as the precision is maple and the stingray is ebony... ...I just wanted to invite folk to share their comments on this bass, positives? negatives? Picture for interest:
  2. Throw me an offer, it’s literally laying around 🤷‍♂️
  3. @Bunion gah that’s pretty… but must keep saving goals in mind im afraid! ☹️
  4. Hey Darrenq, apols, bass sold and I forgot to update ad!
  5. Hey buddy! It went ahead and closed!
  6. Sid is a great chap to chat with, came out for a potential purchase that didn't fit his pedalboard but he was a great at comes and completely reliable to lend him try it out at ease. Would without a doubt deal with him again...! Ander.
  7. Aha! The fearless is rated to 900w at 8ohm though - I digress, apologies! GLWTS
  8. Don’t suppose I can tease you with another Marusczyk for trade? Ander.
  9. True! I do miss it sometimes @Bunion ❤️ 😆
  10. @eubassix off topic but that must sound amazing thru that Greenboy F112 - I just got one thanks to a buddy here for my Mesa D800 and it’s just shocking good!
  11. Ta! On hold for you mate.
  12. Still available…! £110 to [email protected] Paypal F&F sorts it…! Ander. PS: feel free to dm details to sort etc - not to rush but I’ve someone undecided so could be yours @DJ '65!
  13. Another trade with Ian completed…! Just such a nice fella to chat with, fair and with top quality gear! Deal with him in complete trust! See you next time eh? 😉
  14. OFF1 gone, only chorus and pedalboard left…!
  15. Argh! Congrats @Thor! I know you’ve been after this for a while and got tired of waiting on the UK! Sadly I had to leg to of my WD800 since downsizing but I’m picking up the D800 this morning for what I think is a steal (£400 and a 10 min drive!). with how scarce the WD/TT are it would’ve been nice to have a chance to compare, really reckon the TT would do great if you want a channel for clean fat stuff and another for pedals and rockier grit. Enhoy! PS: I think you had had the D800, how does the range compare from your side?
  16. ... and last of the cull! I took this in part trade but I do have the Precision bass box filled. Fantastic bass, I have to say I wasn't expecting it!? These basses are nice. Jazz neck Usual alder/maple/rosewood Pretty versatile pickup, volume + tone Labella flats that do feel in really good shape 3.15KG?! There's the lightest swirl/blemish on the upper horn that DOES NOT REVEAL WOOD - I would say pretty light and can't see it from the front, not really apparent on the side either - tried in pictures but the thing is proper glossy! Very well finished and adjusted, I would definitely say Dakota Red against Fiesta Red but you can be the judge - comes with Sandberg Gigbag. Would love to keep but I need cash my way (could maaaaybe consider a bitsa J??) or preferably a JMJ, preferably blue - I'm sorted for amps cabs pedals etc.
  17. I just got this stupid light Jake 4P at 3.2kg in a trade. my first time playing a Mariszczyk, it’s so very nicely done…! Sounds great and comes with labella flats, jazz necked too. Sadly, I’ve filled my Precision allocation and will pop it in for sale - I gotta say I’m very impressed with these basses!
  18. Not the first time I hear about Barefaced making an amp, I’ve heard that for a couple years so good to see that happening finally…! it’s made me think whether I should wait for my next bass purchase but I always find them being late to my GAS need or myself being impatient lol. Would love to see and hear more, if it’s as good as the cabs they’re onto something!
  19. This is an absolute steal, makes me want to buy it even if I should really stick to a 1x12!!!! Won't see it here longer than a day or two. Damn... If I hadn't cashed out or committed to another deal... or have a bigger car... Ander.

yeah with mine at 3 o’clock I do get distortion, and same volumes (guess it depends on where you have levels and gain of side A) BUT no obliteration levels though 😅 need me some of that and that’s where I use the Hudson to crunch up loads and gets to fuzz but not the right kind of obliteration - maybe the G&P….. ah!
