2. Got it working, got a new soldering iron too, but now the tip is broke on that! Anyone know is there are any universal tips? Both my irons need them.
3. Here is a picture, don't think it will do to tell the truth.
4. 2 band preamp, see link here: - http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/bass...tc2_stc32_3ban/ Used in a warmoth which I built, didn't gig, sold, then the person who bought it didn't gig it either, then I bought it back! Changed it to passive, so no need for this! Has a slap switch, and comes with the matt black knobs. Will get a picture of it all sometime. £50 posted.
5. Think I might just take it apart and redo it all later and see if it works then, works direct to the jack, gave that a go to check the pickups.
6.
On that diagram there is no earth wire to the jack socket earth. They are expecting the metal socket to make a good contact with ground via the metal control plate. Check your jack socket for a good earth contact, or run a ground link to it to be sure.
Already did that one!
7. I am sure I posted on this already?! How can I tell which pot is for what? It's just 3 pots, with a bunch of numbers being the only difference, I assumed the one with the number different to the other two was for tone, but I am not sure if they sent 2 tone by accident instead?
8. It all seems fine, not sure why, just no sound from the pickups at all, any idea? It's wired up as per this: - http://www.fender.com/support/diagrams/pdf...0131800APg2.pdf
9. Surely the neck is original? Who is going to make a decal for an Encore Coaster to go on another neck?!
10. When I saw this, all I thought was body mass index or paul reed smith!
11. If it wasn't that nice finish with a maple fretboard I think I could have stopped myself.
12. I don't use their combo's or cabs, but their heads are definately not weak sounding.
13. I sorted this out now and it can be deleted, I can't find how to delete it myself though!
14. I am gonna get my old Warmoth I built back from Nick, at the moment it has Bartolini 9J1 and a 2 band SD preamp in it, I want to make it passive, anyone know if these pickups are okay passive? And also, what pots and jack etc would I need to do this (link to buy them online would be good!)? Also, anyone want the Seymour Duncan preamp? Haha.
15. That one still looks like a Toby Pro though to me!
16.
Already done that mate , and yeah it is a lefty I'm after. It's either this, an SR500L or another bass of similar ilk S/H (and under £500). Is the SR500L better? Also, as thedontcarebear mentioned before, the 'pro' models as the American one seems to be were being sold for less than half the price, is it worth roughly the price its up for? Thanks you guys
The Toby Pro isn't American if that's what you mean? They are Korean too, the Americans are called Tobias, then whatever model, not Toby.
17.
Ah, so it's overpriced then at £200? Thanks for the heads up Is this the pro you are talking about, or is this a new model?: http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/2b/d7/423e_1.JPG http://i7.ebayimg.com/05/i/001/2b/d7/596b_0.JPG http://i6.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/2b/d8/055d_0.JPG
Yeah, that looks like a pro.
18. I had one of them. Toby Deluxe I think it is, available from Musicyo back in the day, and Sound Control I think it was in the UK, whatever the name of that one that went out of business was. I think the Pro's are probably worth 200-250, with that probably 150 or so, musicyo blew them out really cheap when they closed the european warehouse, and Sound Control got rid of the pro's for something like £170 new at the end. Made in Korea I think, maybe by Cort?
19. I had a custom Matamp made for me, so if you ever see a GTV-TC which was green and red, that was mine, haha. I didn't like the sound of it, but it was well made. I got it years ago, delivery and build time was longer then they said, but I would expect that with anything custom. I can't remember the 2 blokes names, but to tell the truth, the one who seemed to do the actual amp building (not cabinets) always put me off calling as he would always be pretty moody, but, they definitely know what they are doing and like I said build quality was very good. I think with the bass amp it will be easier to know what you will actually get.
20. Just get a secondhand Warwick? You should be able to get a Corvette for that easily.
