  1. Nice board! C4 is great but… without midi control you’re limited to 6 sounds (with a press of the Alt button). Adding midi control requires a controller (guess the stomp can do that) AND something to provide the C4 with Host (which I don’t think the Stomp can do). SA are supposed to be (soon-ish) releasing a 5 pin DIN to TRRS cable which is supposed to allow Host connection. Just worth bearing in mind!
  2. Dunlop Tortex Triangle for me. Not a pick player: but when I do 1mm for heavy downstroke, 0.60mm for fast stuff/it’s the end of the night and my finger tips are killing me 😝
  3. Don’t know on that score… that’s wasn’t a thing when I ordered. I get the in and out easy enough without!
  4. Very much what @chris_bsaid! I got mine too late for my left ear, sadly. I think the 17 filters will be fine for the OP’s application. Suspect that’s what I’ve got!
  5. I use ACS moulded. Years old, don’t know the filter rating but will see if I can find it. I know they’re even attenuation across the spectrum. I love them. Moulded are night and day compared to off the shelf. All plugs take time get used to. Stick with them, sing and play with them in a lot. Couple of tips before fitting: get your ears syringed and cleaned out a couple of weeks beforehand. Seriously. And whilst you’re getting a fitting, get a hearing test to baseline you and allow the fitter to advise on filters.
  6. The extras are a pain with the C4 for sure, if you want to take it beyond six stored presets. I went Morningstar and neuro hub. Endlessly flexible, but expensive. The Mobile app plus usb cable is a good option for quick edits on the fly eg during rehearsal. And mapping functions you might need to tweak (bass; master vol etc) to control knobs per preset helps (I have a standard eg bass is always bottom left or whatever). It’s a great pedal but it does need the tech overlay to make it viable really. I don’t know how you’d ever make a proper synth pedal work without some sort of editor, really
  7. Cannot go wrong with a proper Rat. Lovely things. Gotta be in the top 20 pedals of all time IMHO
  8. Love posts like these. The answer is always “buy a bigger board and just add the new pedal(s)”… but we all make a half-hearted attempt at being sensible 😇
  9. I’ve ordered a Lekato - about £45. Worth a chuckle at that price!
  10. Interesting, @Cat Burrito- good point about cost of these vs cables. I guess if you’re happy to tour them then they’re good enough for me in the local spit and sawdust! At that price I think I’ll get some… if nothing else, be easier to walk and play whilst soundchecking - currently only manage 15’ in front of the PA when I’m mixing coz that’s when the cable runs out!
  11. Solid choice of comp and octaves there too. C4 does good octave but boss does really good octave. Also, the finish on the BC-1X. When I finally get the money for a custom bass, that’s in the running for paint job!
  12. This actually made me snort beer through my nose, nearly drown and then cough a lung up. Utterly superb work, that bass player. Carry on.
  13. And depending on your bridge, you may need to file the string hole (technical term!) to accommodate the thicker string. Wee round needle file job.
  14. I hope @Quatschmacherdoesn’t mind me jumping in… https://manuals.morningstar.io/mc-midi-controller/fractal-audio Has a level of integration with the fractal… not a fractal user myself but I can tell you that the MC range is brilliant. If you can think it, chances are it can do it. And the support and firmware update cycle is unparalleled. Suggest a read of https://forum.morningstar.io/c/other-midi-devices/fractal-audio/23 for more!
  15. Excellent write up, spot on. That’s another big plus with the Peterson… it’s GREAT for setting intonation, whether you fret or harmonic to set it
  16. A Boss TU-2 or 3 is a solid choice. Buffers you on the way in and the DC outlet is handy too. Plenty tuning options and they stay set when you’ve set them. The WazaCraft version if you’re buffer adverse for any reason. That said the Peterson StroboStomp HD has to be the epitome of floor tuners. Bright, more tuning modes than you’ll ever need, your choice of buffered, bypass or always on, DC power outlet. I only have a couple of presets in (standard and dropped) but if you or anyone in the house plays anything stringed, this is the fella to get.
  17. My advice: buy a good solderless patch cable kit sooner rather than later. Off the shelf ones will not fit at some point.
  18. Oh well that’s perfect!! I’ll be back after tonight’s winning euromillions
  19. This is SO well thought out. Hats off, here. Superb work in rinsing the available space there. Patchbay with TRS for midi and/or audio is genius! Can’t imagine a world without Morningstar products… I love my MC6
  20. That’s compact! Excellent work. And the GigRig range is superb… a second hand isolator saved me buying a new PSU given my current one has two 500mA outs
  21. Nah, s’gotta be a 50/50 split for me. It’s got to be enjoyable or I’ll sell the gear and stay at home!
