  1. It seems to have worked treat. Got it screwed on, tuned up and it was grand. Even the intonation was nigh on perfect. The skewer was bamboo BTW.
  2. I tried a cocktail stick, but it was too narrow. A kebab skewer was just the right size though. I've just fitted it and am waiting for the glue to dry before trying to refit the tree. Thanks for your suggestions.
  3. Today, I took the strings off my bass to check the pickups. After restringing, I left the bass and when I came back a few hours later, the tree had popped off. It won't screw back on as the hole is too big in the headstock now. Would wood filler work to fix this or would slightly bigger screw be better?
  4. "Robert de Niro's waiting, talking to Tanya..."
  5. Anybody know what bass she is playing? Custom made maybe? 😂
  6. The first bass I ever played was an Ibanez Precision copy. I've no idea what model it was as this was about 30 years. We used to practise in the local YMCA. initially I was the vocalist, but due to "musical differences" with out bassist I took over bass duties. The bass weighed a ton and had quite a wide, heavily lacquered neck and was a sort of powder blue colour. Fond memories.
  7. Aria Pro II... that's a name I've not heard in a long time (strokes beard wistfully)
  8. if ever a hard drive need checking...
  9. Was anyone else as disappointed as I was when they discovered that "Limahl" is just an anagram of his real surname "Hamill"? 😂

Curiously, not long after watching this/reading the post, a signed copy of Therapy?'s greatest hits dropped through my door!

I usually sing "Dum dumma dumma dum dum waaahh, dum dumma dumma dum dum waaahh..."😄
  15. Belfast has been ruined over the years and I don't mean by the bombs in the "good old days". Whole areas of the city centre have been destroyed, or are due to be destroyed, all in the name of regeneration.
  16. I've used them on my phone and mp3 player and are fine with them.
  17. I was 16, so probably listening to Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Morbid Angel... He following year Smells Like Teen Spirit came out and things changed a lot.
  18. I think I need a better pair of headphones. I have a pair of Sony, but tonight I plugged them into my amp (Fender Rumble 25) for the first time and the sound was awful. It sounded badly overdriven, even though the volume was low.
  19. Radiohead's Pablo Honey was a good album, but a bit ordinary compared with what came after.
  20. I saw Sisters of Mercy live a couple of years ago. They were about halfway through one particular song before I realised what it was.
  21. My 11 year old daughter has been listening to some 80's stuff and quite likes Blondie, after Miley Cyrus covered one of their songs. I think it's don to Spotify.
  22. Whilst not strictly punk, they do tend to get lumped into the genre, so, anything by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, especially Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.
  23. No mention of Robert Bean from Black Rebel motorcycle Club yet? or Nicky Wire on the odd track for the Manics.
