1. Didnt know much about him ( except for that song). Rip anyway
2.
I did my school 'work experience' in the Trace factory when I was 14. In between packing stuff into boxes and doing regular paid staffs jobs whilst they sat around drinking tea and talking about arsenal, I tried out pretty much the entire range at the time (late 90s) To be honest I was distinctly underwhelmed and have stayed clear of Trace ever since. I tried out a friends Ashdown a few years back and that also sounded suitably muffled and wooly. Give me a nice bright GK sound instead... Rob This madee laugh;) . What I found about TE is that, they look great and sound good on pokey rehearsal rooms but sound dull and thuddy at gigs and at home
3. They don't need 11
4. Shame it's not trades . I will be wanting one of these, but times are hard at present. Have a bump . This shouldn't be around for long .
5.
There are smaller ones in the series
I'll look into it . Cheers
6. Wonder if they'd play the uk again?
7. Well, one of the songs I did on my very first gig ...deeply dippy right said Fred .,another gig, w did I will survive. So, after that, you could play just about anything.
8.
I do find most pop and rock doesn't come off too well after a point. Jazz, folk, classical, even Blues, all seem to feel ok but older guys playing a lot of rock n pop genres look a bit 'sad' to me. I recently saw the Michael Schenker group. MS played great but posturing looks seriously iffy.
Schenker . Met him a couple of times . Seriously lost the plot . As well as his crazy sister, who takes her budgie everywhere .
9.
We often do 'Messing With The Kid'!!
Class !
10. Have a nice bass bump
11.
Warning... its 2m long! http://www.thomann.de/gb/studiorta_producer_station.htm
Ahh, just a bit too long cheers for the info
12.
Here's an old one of mine
Nice desk. That's exactly what I need
13.
'Good Morning little Schoolgirl' ?
As well as not liking it , this song has seriously dodgy connotations
14. Longview's a pretty cool song( and bassline). So many people ignore or don't take much notice of lyrics anyway. It'll make a refreshing change from basket case and American idiot. (Great songs that more or less every covers band has done) . Just make sure you avoid brown eyed girl.
15. Bon jovi, def Leppard , Eric Clapton ,pantera
16. Joni Mitchell ,rancid,( don't hate them- but havent heard a good track yet), James addiction, korn, papa roach, yes,Motown , level 42, clash, jam
17. When I was first learning to play, I was taught by a ( very good) guitarist. He told me to play lightly and turn amp up. When I saw a teacher, he told me to play real hard on the strings . This thread has got me thinking.
18. Can't listen to it , because off the sitar. Ding ding ding, all the bloody time . That instrument alone ruins everything for me. Yes a bass would be way cooler .
19.
Glad to hear you are using stands , Ray . Those BW's are a quality speaker and deserve to be head at their best . If you see a REL Quake sub , or, even better , a REL Stampede , going on Ebay for reasonable money then they are a great bet . REL subs stand out because they are equally good for music in a stereo system as they are for home cinema , and are specifically designed to be so . Those models I mention are from the mid 2000's and although now discontinued were fantastic products that have become classics in their own right . Either would serve you well in your flat and , although small and unobtrusive in size , would be ample for your needs . It also helps that REL are a Britsh company that can help with spares and servicing , if the need arises .
I 'll check them out for sure.thanks
20. Good drummers are hard to find. Have a floor shaking bump
21.
It doesn't need to be a B&W sub , Ray , lots of other brands are perfectly compatible with your excellent 601's , which you should get up on some stands , if it all possible . I would recommend a REL sub, , but Velodyne and EPOS make some good ones too , if they crop up on EBay . I use a REL sub with some AE floorstanders and it sounds wicked . Deep and tight bass with a minimum of fuss .
Oops ! I forgot to tell you that the speakers are already on stands. Just that they're called 'bookshelf speakers'. Me bad . Great advice tho'
22. That's rather expensive isn't it? I would say that if the Bass Whammy was a solo amp, it'd probably go for£9.99 ... The real mc coy, just sold for £267.00 . On ebay Cheaper than some I've seen recently
