software updates ..
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
Well,I was happy with leopard. When I got my iPhone 5 that's where the fun started. The genius in the apple store never mentioned snow leopard. Thankfully, my friend burned me a copy. So far, GarageBand works . Haven't tried logic express9 yet. I assume I have to pay line 6 for a pod farm upgrade. Nothing is clear as usual . -
Worth a look, in my opinion. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Project-Pro-ject-Carbon-Turntable-6-months-old-Upgraded-Acrylic-Platter-/221265371231?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Turntables&hash=item338471a05f
wow! Nice:)

software updates ..
I stopped taking OSX updates when they started dropping features required for my 2- or 3-year-old peripherals. Very bad form. They also broke my version of ProTools with 10.7, so I'm sticking with 10.7 because I don't want anything else to stop working.
Does that mean, you had to buy new pro tools? BTW , I am now on 10.6.8 from 10.5.8. So annoying -
Richer sounds , because of your budget. NAD are excellent ,and I think Richer sounds still stock them. I can't remember off hand, but I think there are turntables around the £100 mark that come in different colours. Another basschatter will be along to help;) Rega are great too

Some of you have seen the problems I have been having with my mac osx update. Since installing the next version up, my line 6 interface(podfarm), now refuses to work! Does this mean that I have to shell out $99 for an upgrade? I'm sure some of you have had similar problems . Really frustrating! Maybe better off waving goodbye to the podfarm? Rant over

for gigs. heads and cabs or combos?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to mattphillips's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think you need to travel as lightly as possible , on public transport. If you can afford a Walkabout scout, or a Phil jones amp go for it. Gallien Krueger , are also highly recommended. -
Bass strings with black tops?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Jathan's topic in Accessories and Misc
When I bought my vester fret less , they still have the strings with black tops. They are awesome. I too was wondering which they. Were;) -
Have you gone into the audio MIDI interface? There might be something in there to help. I've installed software before, but I forget how to do it now, but go to your applications and into audio MIDI, and see if there's anything useful in there, if you haven't already.
Yeah, done that. That part of it is fine . Cheers
IIRC Snow Leopard moved a lot of system resources around to new locations as part of the move away from legacy code. I would suggest in the first instance re-installing Podfarm and see if that fixes the problem. The other thing to consider is that your version of Podfarm is quite old - the current version AFAICS is 2.5 - and it may be that 1.12 simply isn't supported under Snow Leopard. Why did you update the OS?
I had to. Got the iPhone 5 which does not work with leopard . Cheers;)
Discos were places where people might have the chance of sex with random strangers after a night of drinking Harp, Cheery B and Babycham.
And the worst places in the world

As a kid , disco was played everywhere to death! Rock on the other hand ,was scarce. Purple, sabs, zep were all going through their troubles and metal was never on the radio in the daytime. Disco seemed to be all about sex, or so I thought. Then whitesnake were sliding it iin;) Only liked a handful of disco songs at the most, probably because I was sick and tired of it. Still think rivers of Babylon is a classic tho'

Not many in this country . Could be wrong. Probably get the exact same one for about £250 -
Lots of people have Ricks and don't sound like Geddy, even if they want to. The problem usually lies in the fact that they're not Geddy. Geddy uses Jazzes nowadays, and he still sounds the same. There's more than one way to skin a cat, and more often than not the best way to replicate another player's sound is actually by using something else altogether.
Very true
