1. Good drummers are hard to find. Have a floor shaking bump
2.
It doesn't need to be a B&W sub , Ray , lots of other brands are perfectly compatible with your excellent 601's , which you should get up on some stands , if it all possible . I would recommend a REL sub, , but Velodyne and EPOS make some good ones too , if they crop up on EBay . I use a REL sub with some AE floorstanders and it sounds wicked . Deep and tight bass with a minimum of fuss .
Oops ! I forgot to tell you that the speakers are already on stands. Just that they're called 'bookshelf speakers'. Me bad . Great advice tho'
3. That's rather expensive isn't it? I would say that if the Bass Whammy was a solo amp, it'd probably go for£9.99 ... The real mc coy, just sold for £267.00 . On ebay Cheaper than some I've seen recently
4. Mmm...maybe you're just better off getting a cheap practice bass for home, and use the big rig for gigs.
5. .. it'll never happen
6. Link not working. Thanks anyway
7. Funny you mention B&W. mine are 601 s3. Suppose I could get a B&W subwoofer off ebay, and that should make things sound even better
8. Okay, I'm beginning to get more tidy in the living room. Last month,I purchased a TV stand at long last. I managed to put my hi fi amp into one of the shelves , and am currently playing my TV through that and through a pair of bookshelf speakers. As we all know , technology is hurtling forward in the audio/visual world. I was wondering for tidyness, is it worth ditching the bookshelf speakers and getting a soundbar instead? What are your thoughts on this ?
9. Enjoy.. And welcome to the club
10. Years ago, I used to rehearse in new cross. Cant bl@@dy remember the name of it. It was opposite Tescos iirc. Failing that, I would take it to Denmark street. Hope that helps .
11. If you can find a Vester ( not curry), try one. Great basses& not pricey
12. Are you using studio monitors ?
13.
Hi Guys. I'm pretty new to this recording game. Here's what I've got going at the moment. Instrument -> Behringer USB Guitar Link -> Garageband. Are you using studio monitors? The quality of the recording is not that great and the bass tone (or lack of) is not so good, and I want to dabble into making some music. Instrumental style, with keys, drums. (Drums from samples or made using the software) I'm also looking at maybe sacking Garageband and using Reaper, as I've heard good things on BC. What can I use to replace my Behringer? As I just don't feel it's working. Any information on best cause of action, will be appreciated. Thanks. If I've missed something you need to know, let me know.
14. Been and done outdoor gigs. Sound in the majority is crap. I notice tho' that the punters are not treated as hostile as in the past. Now they are mote pleasant. There are only 3 headlining bands I would see outdoors (and it must be Twickenham a 20 min walk down yhe road )Rammstein, Jean michel Jarre and Metallica. With the 1 st 2 , you are guaranteed a spectacular show. Etc.
15.
That's definitely not Nige - he would have said "Feds".
Or f@@?ing Feds
16.
Best bass??..probably the one you're after at the moment and can't find...isn't that how GAS works??
Wotz gasworks? Hoo makes dem. snot liike a fendah or summit
17.
Thanks for that. Have to be iPlayer tomorrow though.
+ 1
18.
im very happy with my Aguilar amp and cab. got to be honest its the only amp set ive ever had, so not a huge amount of knowledge when it comes to amplification.
You have Aguilar ?? Me too. Keep that . No changes needed
19.
I'm not sure why anyone would want a collection of basses that all sound pretty much the same. The best way for me to get a classic Fender sound is with an unmodified Fender. Then I've got Status Graphite, long scale, active 5 string monsters that cover pretty much all the modern sounds I could ever want. Very different instruments, but that's the point.
Same as you Rich. All my basses are different
20. Cool! I would consider trying out a few basses at a Bass Guitar show (GAS should follow)!. What about your amp? Have you got a 'keeper'?
21. Everything goes in metal( except the violin bass)
22.
My band decided to do a gig on the Royal Mile but we didn't do it by halfs. We hired a portable generator for the amps and our drummer brought his full kit. After a couple of tunes things were going great and we'd attracted a huge crowd, until out of the corner of my eye I spied a gentleman in a wig and a dress gesticulating wildly, with policeman in tow. What we hadn't realised, is that we had set up outside The Scottish High Court and the judge (it seemed) was put off by hearing rock loud music while he was sentencing murderers. Spoilsport!
Brilliant ! Nearly choked on the cafe. Btw; outdoors the sound is. Mainly crap anyway. I think maplins do something.(can't remember now) I've often wanted to busk( even for no cash), but I'm band less and to scared to go solo
23. Sounds brilliant! Glad it went well;)
