  1. LOL that's my karma for all the things I've said about Alembics 🙂
  2. Limited choice, fortunately I like stainless Elites on mine.
  3. Imagine if Franzl Lang and Edith Piaf had a love child...
  4. Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. No you're all wrong. The drums play 4:4 but the guitar/bass don't.
  6. About thirty years ago, I still have a couple. The offset ones line up fine. Where they fall down is if you use them to create a line of free-standing pedals so easy to pull one out, damage a connection or bend a plug. Might work better with pedalboards.
  7. How very non-U. 🙂
  8. I don't know if I was just unlucky... but I clicked a few of the " Watch our community members perform this song " on Ultimate Guitar. Yes... well... oh dear.
  9. A new, relaxed and simplified layout for my pedalboard with about 40% of the pedals removed. Not sure many gigs will need the HM2, but it's a position where I can easily drop in either a modulation pedal or my tube screamer clone. Might swap over the gumpinator and the XVI without changing the order. Plenty of room to add back my loop switcher if needed.
  10. It's elegant, tasteful and restrained as well as, no doubt, being beautifully made. Most Alembics are only the last of those, IMHO, YMMV 🙂 Many Alembics are like ormolu mirrors ... you either love all the ornamentation and craft or see it as pointless* decoration. *Actually most Alembics have several points. P.S. Please don't take me to seriously 😉
  11. See... anything's possible! 🙂
  12. No, that's the same tempo (150..?) for everyone, but some bars are 2/4, others 4/4 or 5/4 (but the drums stay on 4/4 mostly, really...). Several time signatures, but all the same tempo. Err... that's what I meant DadDude.
  13. Bloody spill Chicken.
  14. Worst: Cornershop before they got famous. Best? Very, very tough question, but Hawkwind playing Chronicles of the Black Sword at Hammersmith Odeon (the gig that was released as Live Chronicles). Huw Lloyd Langton's performance of Moonglum is as much part of Hawkwind lore and legend as Space Ritual.
  15. Let us know how 'orange' it sounds 🙂 I like the Orang sound... a lot, and if this delivers, it might be a good alternative to an Elf for me.
  16. Playing consistently beyond your competence (i.e. not knowing when you are making too many mistakes). Pushing the boundaries of your competence makes you better.
  17. See Black Dog.
  18. Ziggy Stardust, great line by Trevor Bolder 🙂
  19. If anyone's starting a Wulfpeck tribute, you've got the difficult job... 🙂
  20. Fair enough! I would be nervous about using that myself - note it stresses using a carrier oil when used on skin!
  21. Interesting! I found this on Alembic's website (forum sewction): Jasco brand seems to be no longer available, but I also found:
  22. I've got to be honest, I suspect you 'pure lemon oil' is cut with something - concentrated limonene, the main component is easily flammable and causes contact dermatitis as well as killing fish. But most of all, if you used enough to cover a fingerboard your bandmates would be saying you smell like a washing up liquid factory! Whilst 'food grade' lemon oil is pure and concentrated lemon oil as sold in supermarkets for cooking is cut with vegetable oil: https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/289599286 Tesco Sicilian Lemon Extract 60Ml Ingredients INGREDIENTS: Rapeseed Oil, Lemon Oil. Personally, my worry would be that vegetable oils (as opposed to mineral oils) are more liable to oxidation and becoming sticky and horrible. Actually, would you be kind enough to share a picture of the lemon oil you use?
  23. Well, they want to sit back and wait for the lawsuits 🙂 Pure lemon oil with nothing else in it is nasty stuff; you are much better using light mineral oil with a drop of lemon oil in it (e.g. Jim Dunlop 65). (note that when used for flavouring food you should only use one or two drops). https://www.essentialoilsdirect.co.uk/lemon-citrus_limonum-essential_oil.html
