  1. I've often wonder this, how can you get a stereo output from a mono input? I often wondered about the point stereo in ears as well, maybe I'm missing something
  2. Had various Behringer products, I use a UM2 audio interface to play my bass though my laptop, play along to tracks via Audacity and connect my laptop to my HiFi and headphones, you can use it to record 2 channels at once as well, good solid piece of kit, our singer also uses a MA400 to give him his own monitoring channel for his in ears, our mixer amp only has one monitoring channel, does the job brilliantly. I have had a BDI21 but didn't really use it, prefer my zoom B1on, thought the gain knob was a bit on or off, and an ADI21 which again I don't use because my electro acoustic has it's own EQ, but, again solid bits of kit a ridiculously low price
  3. I've used a Boss WL-20 for a few years now I like the fact that the transmitter plugs straight into the bass, no faffing around with a cable to the transmitter when it is mounted separately, there's a right angled adapter supplied so it doesn't stick out on, say, a P bass. Recharging both units is done with a USB charger, like a phone. The only downside I found is it is line of sight so if something gets in the way it cuts out
  4. opps, silly me, didn't notice it was on the DB forum 😒
  5. just got back from seeing the Long Ryders at the Metronome in Nottingham, lovely venue holds about 400 probably half full, (it was a Monday night), knew every song, it always helps, great sound, although the bass could have done with being a touch louder, I would say that wouldn't I?
  6. as I said earlier I've been gigging with a series 5 Trace amp for years with no problems at all, but I do take a backup just in case, but I would do that anyway regardless of what amp I was using
  7. having my bass low, I spend a lot of time with my thumb rapped around the neck to damp the E string, I don't actually think about where my thumb is edit, oh yeah I play with a pick another edit, I just played some songs, my thumb is never behind the neck, always on top
  8. I had a 4 x10 given me by @kev b, because it was so heavy, it was too heavy for me as well, so I sold it for about £60 and split the money with him, the bloke who bought it carried it out of the door with one hand! I did feel a whim 😂, like you say, they do sound good
  9. I've used a couple of TE heads for years now, a series 5 GP12 and an SMX GP12 as back up, which did need a new set of output MOSFETS a few years ago, I did pay about £130 for each of them, because they are the fan less 200 watt ones they're not too heavy at 13 KG, plenty loud enough, I did have a 4 x 12 cab and a 1 x 15 cab but they are just too damned heavy, which is why they're so cheap, so use neo cabs now, I am perfectly happy with this set up, old TE amps are quality but the ones with fans do start to get a bit heavy
  10. could be a trans woman, another box ticked
  11. Shame John Nettles won't be doing a cameo, the end of the Starsky and Hutch film was brilliant
  12. I loved the original series back in the day, tried watching a rerun episode recently, it had not aged well 😕
  13. I've only had trouble once, I noticed his low feedback too late
  14. just my luck I sold 2 item last week, but I did wait for 70% off the selling fees, I suspect this is what most people did, so they weren't making much from private sellers anyway
  15. full story here in everybody's favourite newspaper 😐https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/smallbusiness/article-13895233/Ebay-cutting-selling-fees-nearly-categories-does-compare-Vinted-Depop.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html although some of the article it doesn't make sense, but basically, private sellers is free, presumably they'll still make profit of paypal
  16. sort of see where he's coming from, if you stick your fingers in your ears it cuts out the treble therefore the bass becomes more prominent, so if you still can't hear it it must be too quiet, however, you shouldn't have to stick your fingers in your ears to hear the bass edit, taking out my hearing aids has a similar effect 😂
  17. tbh I don't think you'll need bd2i if you've got ams60b, I didn't need mine with a Zoom B1on, unless you need the XLR out
  18. £20 for a no name band T shirt? bloody hell we're under charging, ours are a tenner 😃
  19. it's tough keeping it up, another band I know quite well, Hung Like Hanratty are doing well for themselves, but recently the bass player, drummer and guitarist have left. I suppose the final leap, where you can pack up your day job, is the hardest of all
  20. it is possible to make more money from an originals band, obviously, but it depends how far up the food chain you are, initially, it cost money and a lot of effort, and most originals bands never get past that stage, there's a lot more travelling invovled in an originals band, it needs dedication (and the right job) to travel 300 miles on a Friday to play a 30 minute slot to a handful of people, I think most of us have been there. I know I have.
  21. well there you go, I definitely saw an interview with Feargal where he said "Teenage Kicks is basically about wanking" so I suppose that indicates that was his interpretation of the lyrics. I have no problem playing Teenage Kicks at gigs, us old men are allowed to look back wistfully at times gone by when we lusted after a girl
  22. according to Fergal Sharkey, aren't blokes of a certain age allowed to have a wank anymore?
  23. I've used a Zoom B1on for years, I have 3 settings normal is just a bit of overdrive, a brighter version of the normal one for stuff like the Jam (I doubt anybody else notices) and super distorted for Ace of Spades. I have got a Zoom B1 four but prefer the B1on
  24. I googled it, Mike Rutherford
  25. so, I was in the pub tonight with my partner and two friends, "how many bass players can you name" I asked, John Deacon came the reply from my partner, who is a Queen fan, Phil Lynott was the other reply from my mate who likes his prog rock but couldn't remember the Genesis bass player, bit depressing eh?
