  1. Sadly I'm not a good enough player to warrant buying this, though I am seriously drooling. It is gorgeous!
  2. Sonically Plebeian. B|

      I liked it too.

  3. "Sonically Plebeian". 😁 Now how do I change my Basschat signature 🤔
  4. Finally listened to this. I like it! I'm struggling a little to imagine it sitting in our church worship band though, so it's not going to be on my purchase list 😇😎
  5. Welcome aboard!
  6. A man who makes fine adjustments to his trousers with a hummer. Tough dude!
  7. One of my favourite tunes by The Move. Never heard anyone cover it before and I find it's on @Happy Jack's YouTube channel 😄
  8. Thanks @Happy Jack 👍 I did a search on the forum to see if there was a NBD review or such but couldn't find one, so thanks for a very comprehensive, and favourable, review. Good to hear the low B works on a Rick. I have only owned 35" basses, so 33¼" might actually be easier. I'm not in the immediate market for a new bass - I still have to learn to play the ones I have properly- but there are a couple for retail sale within easy driving distance so I will check them out when I have a bit of spare time. Thanks again
  9. Slightly off topic - anyone here played the 5 string 4003S/5 ? Have decided 5 strings suit me, but do like a Rick.
  10. I've done the essentials: trussrod, intonation, string height. I would be quite happy swapping electrics and shimming a neck but don't have the kit for fret levelling etc. @Steve Browning. I had my first bass set up professionally. When I got my second a year ago it was strung E-C, so much higher tensiom than the B-G I wanted and with different strings. So I had to adjust everything, or pay for a setup. This: https://www.studybass.com/gear/bass-setup/ is what I followed. Carefully and step by step. Very straightforward and much easier than, for example, playing the bloody thing!
  11. CAUTION: contains irritatingly catchy pop earworms and no interesting bass content. This warning posted as a public service.
  12. VERY cool. "Jabsco only needed 4 strings".
  13. Yes, I can see why that would be odd.
  14. Absolutely in character and looking really good! For some reason I expected them to point upwards rather than along the neck.
  15. Metal Stetson is the name of a thrash country band from the North East of England. And if it isn't then it damn' well should be!
  16. Flatcap for flatwounds, beanie for roundwounds. Hatless for fretless. Fedora for EUB. May need a whole thread to sort this properly.
  17. What is it and what does it do?
  18. But at least the colours on yours are conventional. That orange flame body and pale neck/headstock are too distinctive. @gapiro really wants a cracked tort pick guard and a mollases-coloured fretboard. He just hasn't realised it yet.
  19. What a way to start the working week. Thanks for that. 👍👍
  20. Let me try to help you out: "It's horrid. You really don't want it" Does that help at all?

    Hi

    Stay away from the marketplace...😁
  22. Can't go wrong with a Yamaha.
  23. Envious!!! Not been skiing for a few years now, I miss the clear skies and the views.
  24. Placeholder. 1967 - I'm the one on the right.
