  1. Might account for the odd crackle sound that started yesterday on my bass in fact... 🙃
  2. Bad luck. Had a couple of colleagues with MS over the years. They had the same general attitude: "It might be sh*t and it's not going away, but it's not going to stop me, just slow me down". Which is a pretty good attitude to life regardless of the hand you've been dealt.
  3. Hope it lives up to expectations. Look forward to the NBD post 👍
  4. Well if you're going out, go out in style!!
  5. Thanks. 👍 Now debating how to justify it. 🤔
  6. Very nice indeed! 5-string, headless, Status and a bit different. Perfect - but sadly above my budget. GLWTS! 👍
  7. Some nice work there. All good ideas to steal 😉
  8. Never heard of them, but just checked the web site and they're playing in Solihull in September so I'll get tickets. Thanks for the recommendation 👍
  9. Where all the big knobs hang out?
  10. I'll be there drooling.
  11. Welcome back!
  12. Nice table, not sure how you would keep the water flowing in a bass body 😅
  13. This isn't a build diary, or even about basses per se, but I saw a very neat idea this evening which could make a very interesting top or body for a bass. At a restaurant in Bowness on Windermer (Boardwalk bar and grill, very nice), I was distracted by the tables. Talking to the owner, he and one of the waitresses had made them during lockdown. The wood was cut rectangular on three edges, planed and thicknessed. Then the centre was filled with the coloured resin, and when that was hardened the whole lot encased in clear resin. Looks cool in the restaurant, could look very cool on a bass body. I won't be doing this any time soon, but I'll post it here for anyone else to maybe pick up.
  14. As long as that's true of the basses, and not Mrs. Geek99. 😳

    Hello

    Welcome aboard!
  16. Welcome aboard! There are a couple of threads for bands wanted and bassists wanted for bands. And lots of friendly folks to chat too on here as well.
  17. This could also be the first greeting thread to get locked for descending into Iniquity!

    Hello!

Welcome aboard! Usually a good selection of P-basses in the marketplace, at all sorts of prices!
  19. Welcome aboard! As @Newfoundfreedom says, post in the wanted section and keep an eye on the market place. Stick around though, there's lots of stuff here to interest and amuse you.
  20. P.s. other threads are available
  21. Welcome aboard @Ebenue. From someone who wasn't press-ganged by @Frank Blank and the rest of the WCPS.
  22. Or the landlord books and pays you, and puts the payment through the expenses system. But it is what it is, and once you're set up it should all be workable. Maybe they had to introduce it because too many landlords were fiddling the books? Who knows?
  23. This shows exactly why repurposing an internal expenses system to pay suppliers is a bad idea. If you imagine it as an employee request to go to a conference followed by claiming the expenses associated with the trip, then the process and the naming convention makes sense. It's still not nice software, but that's what it's designed for. Hopefully if you have regular gigs with the same pub it will become straightforward.
