    Hi

    Welcome aboard!

    Hi !

Which continent? We're short on members from Antarctica. (Basschat humour 😉)
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Welcome aboard! What's so bad about Kingston upon Thames? I've been there a few times and it seemed OK. Or does it just have a terrible music scene?
  5. I'm pretty sure that if you just add *SOLD* to the title, the thread is automatically locked. Someone's just bought a lovely, lovely bass. 👍
  6. We could collectively celebrate a No Bass Day.
  7. Leon only needed two coat hangers.
  8. Very Nice. Hope to see it at the SW Bash.
  9. Excellent! Very cool bass, a cracking band, and happy dancing punters. Plus the most excellent line, "Where's my bass player gone?" 😅
  10. But any neck I make will probably be a thousand times worse.
  11. Happy to go along with this, it's a sensible trade-off. Pretty much any system for guaranteeing buyer/seller ID can be thwarted with enough effort. This is a small amount of effort with (from the anecdotal experience of the air rifle forum) a reasonable success rate. If BC decided to introduce full financial services Know Your Customer identification processes with passports and proof-of-life photgraphs then that would be more secure, but too inconvenient for most users.
  12. Items wanted is now locked down to supporting members only to avoid spam and scammers. Which reminds me I need to renew my support.
  13. Welcome aboard! Was this the 1000 lights event you were at? https://ampedmagazine.co.uk/2024/08/20/what-went-down-1000-lights-by-uprawr-mental-health-foundation-review/ I'm not really a fan of LP, but that does sound like a pretty amazing night to be part of.
  14. Get thee over to StudyBass.com for how to DOUBLE the number of fingers you can pluck with! 🤪 Plus some really good advice on bass essentials and safe technique which might just save your back and wrists - basses are a lot heavier and longer than guitars.
  15. Welcome back.
  16. Possible BC relay? If someone can get it from Worcester to Solihull then I can get it to Milton Keynes or a bit closer to the M1/M25 junction.
  17. Loudness is now very specifically defined using LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) and it's essential if you're mastering audio and want it to sound good on different platforms. The scale takes into account absolute signal level, the frequency response of human hearing, and a few other technical factors. There's a relatively simple introduction here: https://emastered.com/blog/what-are-lufs Somewhere I have a really good cheat sheet translating a lot of common terms musicians use into something that sound engineers can adjust, but I can't find it. Will keep looking. Edit: this attachment isn't the one I was looking for and doesn't define thump, but it might be useful to someone. FrequencyCheetsheet.pdf
  18. Self build would be my vote too. But whatever Phil choses to do will always be very interesting and gratefully recieved.
  19. Superb.
  20. I was fortunate enough to play this on Tuesday evening. I expected a one-trick pony with a thumpy low sound, but it's surprisingly musical and versatile. I didn't think it was especially heavy either, though it's not featherweight. A lovely thing all round.
  21. Very cool indeed! I look forward to hearing it in action one day.
  22. I thought I might have to apologise for suggesting the matching headstock, but clearly @Andyjr1515 will do an amazing job as always, so I'll just stand around slack-jawed as usual.
  23. Very impressed!
