You should just be able to sign in to MS teams with the email you gave me, because you are part of my organisation.
-
Have you got MS Teams on the android
-
Open and log into Teams, and I'll include you on the meeting
-
Microsoft Teams
-
Andy is in. Anyone else joining.

OK all. So if you open teams and join with the account we set up then you'll be in. I will then call everyone using Teams abut 8pm, but if you're not running the app you won't get the call. So, to make a terrible analogy, you have to walk in the door of the hall, and then I'll call us to order on VC. 🙂 @Oldman, I'm not sure what TeamViewer is, is it another name for the Teams App? If so then you should be able to see and post to the "General" chat now

Definitely ON! @Len_derby, you do need a Microsoft account, but you can set one up with any email address. If you use the one you sent all will be good. I will be in from about 7:50 Rich

Hmmmm. The email address is right. I'm not familiar enough with Apple to be sure. Are you logging into the Apple Business store at this point in order to download the app? You just need to download from the normal Apple store it just like any other app, using your AppleID. When it's on the machine then you can log into the team I've set up. I have an old iPad I can test on. But it's at church as the remote control for the mixing desk so I will have to class walking down to get it as my exercise tomorrow as it's hardly an essential journey. Low risk though given that the church will be empty.

Most likely I fat-fingered your email address. I'll check when I am at a PC.

Not at all. The teams client works fine on Wintel, MacOS, iOS, Android and Linux 🙂

So far we have: @Bassman Sam, @Andyjr1515, @Len_derby, and I hope still @jebroad & @ped Added @Oldman and @nickmew Added another +1 who isn't (yet) on BC Time confirmed at 8PM THIS FRIDAY (whatever date that is 😄 ) Start up and log into Teams with the email address a few minutes before and I'll kick off the call when most people are in. Cheers, Rich

I like the little MOP arc at the top. Shame the arrow points down rather than up,

Teams will optimise quality depending on the bandwidth available, the wider the pipe the higher the quality video it will use to that endpoint. (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/prepare-network) Group video calling (540p videos on 1080p screen) is 1.1Mbps/2Mbps. So worth a try. @SpondonBassed was concerned about breaching a data limit than the transfer speed.

D'OH! Friday 3rd APRIL at 8pm.

My daughter's 1.5 hour Teams session used 897MB according to the Win10 Networkd stats. So not as much as expected, but not insignificant

So far we have: @Bassman Sam, @Andyjr1515, @Len_derby, and I hope still @jebroad & @ped Added @Oldman and @nickmew How does Friday 3rd March at 8pm work for people? Rich

What are you listening to right now?

Big Fun - to drown out Coronation Street. Why would listening to Miles Davis make one a snob? -
I think it's about 1.5GB/hour or a bit more. I'll see if I can measure usage in a real conference tomorrow, and post here.

TESTERS REQUIRED for a Virtual Bass Bash So far we have: @Bassman Sam, @Andyjr1515, @Len_derby, and I hope still @jebroad & @ped @Oldman - PM me with an email address A few more would be good. Currently no preferences for Friday or Saturday, so probably Friday. Rich

I'm expecting to see you @Frank Blank, the internet reaches to Essex. We can start a diabetic sub-forum. "Flats or rounds, which lowers blood sugar more efficiently?"

TESTERS REQUIRED for a Virtual Bass Bash The sort of thing I have discussed with @jebroad and @ped would be like an interactive seminar. Ideally we would get a couple of people to present something, either a product demo, or a technique, or a workshop tour from their mobile (that would be cool), or just "show us your bass", and then there is an open forum for people to ask questions. I think this could be quite fun, and we could run them while in lockdown. The technology will work, what we need is a bunch of folks willing to see how easy they found it to use. Ahead of a proper VBash, I'd like at least a dozen willing volunteers to try it and see what they think of using MS Teams. Lots of options are available, and everyone has their favourite, but I had to pick one that I know will scale and is free, so this was it 🙂. If it doesn't suit, then we can change, but we need to actually run one first to see what the pros and cons are. I have the team set up, and have tested it small scale. The proposed date for this test, or two dates if we have enough interest are Friday 3rd April - in the evening Saturday 4th April - late afternoon or evening If you're interested then please PM me with an email address I can use to invite you into the team. Also let me know what device you would intend to join on. I'll then invite you to the team, and post a list of participants here, without the emails obviously. (If you want to maintain anonymity or separation of concerns then just set up a new email address for this. I set up [email protected] just to provide separation from my main email account) Cheers all, Rich

Never thought of the uneven tension across the neck. It's obviously marginal, otherwise everyone would do it, but little things add up. What does the reverse look like then?

Finished Pics! Psilos Phoenix Dreadnought Acoustic
Richard R replied to Andyjr1515's topic in Build Diaries
Listened and liked, a lot. It reminded me of Pat Metheny, similar music, style and exquisite playing. Then I clicked through to like the clip, and discovered that indeed it is a cover of a Pat Metheney tune 😁 -
