1.
What no interest? I have one, makes playing those slightly heavier basses a bit less of a bind... Have a bump...GLWTS
Thanks - appreciated! They are super straps, and if anyone is after a minty short one, here it is!
2. Purchased this week, my Neotech Mega Strap. Condition is A1+. Only a bit of small creasing to the leather (if you can call it that) from where I attached it to my bass for about 2 minutes! Pics shown. Reason for selling is simple - I bought it to match my other Neotech strap. Ordered it in small, same as the other one. Didn't realise they've changed their sizes - and once I'd put it on the bass, I couldn't very well return it - so that's why! The size of the strap is - 32"-37" (86.4-94cm) - measurements from the Bass Direct site, where I bought it from. Cost me £38 all in - only want [s]£25, posted free in the UK. [/s]NOW £20! These things are so comfy. Excellent straps. Payment by PayPal 'gift' please. PM for more! Thanks for looking, SB
3. Love these. Love that one. Great score!
4. I know a guy who was playing away....I met him after this, but I can't say I blame the actions below.... Wife walked out on him, due to his infidelity...but a short time later let herself back in to the house to grab his newly purchased Gibson Les Paul, a white custom shop. His dream guitar. Needless to say, she took it and apprantly pretty much have it away, on purpose. Wife 1, cheating husband, 0.
5.
Can't wait for this. I tried listening to 'Clean Your Clock' again this morning, but haven't been able to get through it; makes me sad to hear his voice on this album as it sounds feeble and a shadow of its former self.
I'm the same on this. I love the 'Head, but I'm not sure sure why they issued that live album. Especially as the track listing was nothing new. I appreciate it was near the end, so significant, but.... The covers album looks good, and a few I wasn't aware of on there too. Anything new from MH is always welcome!
6. Up for grabs is my Mono strap. It's the 'short' variant - 40" - 46", It's the Duraweave, I think it's Ash or Smoke in colour....light grey, essentially! It's used but good condition, as the photos demonstrate. Only reason for selling, is that I've become a convert to even wider straps! Price is £20, UK postage included. Payment via PayPal 'gift' please, PM for more details. Thanks for looking! 7. I've always been known as a player who sticks a lot of notes and fills in. Guess I'm influenced by 'busy' players. It's a style of playing I like, and it's also become my thing too. I bring my sound and style to the table. Many players are great at a stripped-down feel - I'm not one of them. A player told me once that I played more notes in a song than he did in an entire gig! When our drummer once said to me, 'less is more', I simply told him that he was wrong. More is more!
8. That's a very cool shade!
9. Pulled the trigger on a Maruszczyk PES50 in 'Antique'. All the shades look good, and I was thinking that a Road Worn strap might actually suit my Flea Jazz bass....!
10. We're an R'n'B band. We purposely avoid classic rock covers....although we have knocked out 'Can't Get Enough' when requested. Now that's classic, classic rock!
11.
FWIW neither of mine have this affliction...
Hopefully a one-off. Can I ask which colour/s you have, WoT? They all look pretty tempting!
12.
They're fantastically comfortable. However, as I found out last week, a black one in combination with a sweaty day and my favourite white Hendrix t-shirt is a poor mix. Comfy yes, colourfast no!
Although this isn't so good.....!
13. Thanks guys, they do sound like what I need. I love my Neotech - but it's too bouncy with the weighty Ricky, and the Mono isn't enough. These sound just the job - it's the extra padding and weight spreading I need the most.
14. Interesting stuff....but I do love my padding....!
15. Best wishes, Norm is a true living legend!
16. Has anyone tried one of these? http://bassdirect.co...Ass_straps.html I'm after the most padded strap I can get (within reason). Already have a Mono, and a Neotech - both work on my other basses, but my old Ricky is a bit of a boat anchor, and very tough on long gigs and rehearsals. Saw these, and thought they look of good quality, especially given in how high regard their instruments are. Ideas?
17. We play it occasionally, and I've always opted for the former. We're a trio, and so it would show if me and the guitarist were playing different things! He's a long-term Bowie fan as well. Hope this clears things up - a bit!
18. I think the Flea and Geddy Lee basses are amazing instruments, regardless how you feel about the artists themselves.
19. I'm after a cheap-ish hard case for a J-bass. I've got a couple of other decent cases (genuine SKB Fender+Gator TSA), so this is only really for home storage, and maybe the odd ride out in the back seat of the car! Ideally, I'd be after a used genuine Fender one, but failing that, saw this - http://www.gear4musi...7feoaAqir8P8HAQ Not sure if it's just a lot of rubbish, and it's better stored in the gig bag? Any other ideas/thoughts/suggestions? I should add....or these? Bought direct from these guys some years back..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hard-Bass-Guitar-Case-for-Fender-Precision-Bass-/162566027716?hash=item25d9b0b9c4:g:uf4AAOSwl8NVVe6q
20. In our R'n'B trio, we've have recently thrown in '500 Miles' by The Proclaimers! It goes down really well - we play in our genre-style, I in fact really like doing it.
21. I think their albums have got better. Thought the last one, 'Sonic Highways' was my fave yet. Either way, there's something for everybody.
22. I wouldn't say over playing....just his style. It's something I've often been accessed of (although my fills aren't in the league of JB's!)
23. I like Chic, enjoyed their set. Also loved the bass playing. I like 'in your face' players, and Jerry's got it all. Awesome. Couldn't stop listening to him. Would have liked something from the post '79 Chic albums, though....very small gripe!
