2.
A couple of mistakes, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it:
That gave me goose bumps. Yes.
  3. That's the sh*t baby.

Why I put this in the Recording section is beyond me, "ah-mmmm, wine-o-clock possibly arrived too early yesterday?" Oh, that'll be why.
  5.
Really love my Fender Jazz but it currently plays like a dog, so much so I'm the only one who can play it with any level of success. I've tried setting it up myself as a quick fix (I've been very busy at the moment playing and recording) but the action is still far too high and the intonation up the neck is slightly out. Need to have it professionally looked at because I'm at my wits end with it, but I like the tone of the thing most of the time.
PM'd

  8.
Lol seriously mate don't even argue with him. As soon as he sets you in his sights for whatever pathetic reason then don't bother reacting, just ignore him. Let him act like a prat and he'll get what's coming to him one day
I think you fancy him. Is this some kind of a lover spurned reaction?
  9.
Um, hello, this is hard for me to really get across well. I'm 15 and reliseing that playing bass is really what I want to do in life. I've been playing for less than three years but I'm like above grade 6 standard, I read sheet music (three days locked in my room), I'm playing in a band (how many 15 year old boys don't?), I'm playing in a jazz band (accredited by local big boys as the best ever school band they have heard), I'm playing scores for big bands and in a school production of Bugsy Malone and taking as many chance as I possibly can (which ain't many in rural Norfolk ). Oh I'm also taking theory lessons and DB lessons. (Blowing my own trumpet, described as 'highly gifted' and the 'best bass student I've taught') So anyway, it's really frustraiting 'cause I see all this insane bas players, more than a few of them preside on this here sight, and I go to myself how do they get there, I woodshed day in day out I listen to whatever the hell I can lay my hands on... So yeh, what I'm trying to say is that I want your help. I want to know where you learnt stuff like how to play over chord changes, how to construct walking bass lines, what to listen to and how to survive in the music industry. (Also if you live/have knoledge of the Norwich/South Norfolk music scene where I could get gigs or go see decent jazz stuff etc.) I know I'm over stepping the line putting all this stuff up here and expecting you to reply, but I'm coming through in the generation of tab and eighth notes, not transcribing and quavers, so please help, cause I want to be part of the future of bass and I don't want that future to be bland, dire infact, because so many other elements of music nowadays are. Thanks.
Have you had your end away?

  12. Goodness, what a beautiful guitar.
  13.
Dick Venom And The Terrortones were braving the snow to bring our mutant garage psychobilly to Liverpool last night. The venue "Don't Drop the Dumbells" is in a disused gym. Weird decor and bitterly cold it looks like a squat, but the vibe and the crowd is great. Really enthusiastic and not at all scared of Mr Venom when he descends into the audience - normally this has anyone down the front scurrying for cover. New guitarist Vicky Twist played fantastically and has brought a big improvement to the sound and on-stage dynamics. Just a pity that the arctic conditions resulted in a smaller turn out than hoped for although we thought it was pretty good, and fears of getting snowed in meant that we decided to leave after our set which meant missing Bad Taste Barbies who sounded great in the sound check. :-( The organisers love it and hopefully we'll be back in the new year in more clement conditions!
Sorry I couldn't make it, glad you had a good time.
  14. Sounds like a Badass II that has been fitted to 3 different basses, as the Badass III, has 4 slots per saddle. Pics would settle this.
  15. The Germjoin is beautiful and Rosies voice also.
  16.
One of my songs recorded with the Ibanez Affirma 'plonk' style: http://soundcloud.com/spoombung/set-in-silver Quite a rubbery tone...
Lovely. Are you palm muting?
  17.
Brilliant! We're expecting to be on at around 10.30 - see you then.
Sorry my friend, snowed off.
  18.
Me too. I remember flogging most of my bass gear around 90 & filling my bedroom with Atari,Akai & any old analogue keyboards I could get my hands on, thinking this is the future! No, never went to Voodoo, actually joined them later than all that. Being a Manc., my clubbing was Thunderdome, Boardwalk, Hac., Sankeys, too many Hulme parties; between 89-92. After which, I think things changed for the worse around that particular scene, plus by then I'd got it all out of my system - thank God!
Did you ever go to any of the nights at the NIA Centre? Sankeys and The Hac were super, before all the organised drug gangs.
  19. I'm a total hippy but I hate the look. I sport, French cropped hair, black and red clothes. The tie-dye is in my minds eye, not on my t shirt.
  20. What time are you going on?
  21. See you there. I'll introduce myself.
  22. TerryKs old cabs, sound great. Or was it just one of them?
  23. Looks like a Fender to me. http://www.fender.com/uk/products/search.p...rtno=2245700000
  24.
Excellent tunes there Steve. Ooh-er think I'm havin a flashback!
For a little while I thought guitar based bands had had their day, it was a truly amazing time and the acid, E's and amphet all helped. Did you ever go to Voodoo with any of the lads?
