1. So you were The Queens of the Stoneage's original bass player? (Check out the singer.)
2.
Does it come with the kettle lead?
If you don't want your head kettled, stop asking such leading questions. That'll be £5 please.
3.
Here is mine.... Eden Nemesis NC810 (8*10 combo), Rack containing a Korg DTR1000, James Lamenzo Hyperdrive and a Russian Big Muff. I have a Barge Concepts VB-jr (Variable Blend True Bypass Looper) on it's way. My Dean Z Tour is the Bass shown in the pictures. Thanks, Jim.
Now that's horny. 8x10"s = boom boom shake the room. Brilliant.
4. Cheers mate. Do the pole pieces follow the radius of the fingerboard?
5. Gotoh bridge, Wizard pup, tort plate, big fat set of strings, put it all together and play for 2-3 years on a high heat. Tastey. Don't spray it, it's gorgeous.
6. Hi jono here's the pics.
7. Hi Jono, the bass behind is some kind of Jap thing from the 80's. It's a through neck......oh Ill just show you some pics. The fingerboard is a bit messed up where someone has removed the frets and taken some of the rosewood with them. There's plenty of meat left on the board though. I was going to do it up and sell it as it's a righty but I think I'll just sell it as it is. Cheers Steve.
8. Just read your sig. How much of an improvement?
9. Spunktastic! That looks great. What are the cabs resting on? Get a 4 ohm 15" then stand back and grin. 4x Tri 110's would be even better.
10. Can you alter the pole piece height? Cheers Steve.
11. Better than a Stingray in the right hands.

I'd like to try a Dingwall but I read that he won't make left handed versions, true or false?
13. 300-400w is plenty, you just need more than two speakers, ie a 4x10" cab and it needs to be efficient. Check the sensitivity ratings of the cabs you are interested in. You could go, preamp- £200, power amp-£200, cab-£400. That way you could have a very powerful and loud rig but then you have to decide whether to get a 4 or 8 ohm cab. It's all good fun at the end of the day.

Which 6?

Buy this bass. £350 Toby Pro, £160's worth of EMG'S thrown in, derrrrr.
15. Radiohead, last night on Jonathon Ross, discuss. The best tv sound mix I've heard in a long time. Great song, great guitar playing and tasteful bass. A joy. Nice suit on the drummer. I hope this stops all the crap about Estelle.
16. You said "dirty back yard".
17. I bet his mum battered him for using all of her nail varnish, the tit.
18. Estelle's band totally over played, totally. I went to see India Ari thinking that the gig would be better than the albums but the same thing happened, completely devoid of groove too many fills, too flashy, no groove, and she had shaved her head.
19.
I just came across this thread by accident - fantastic looking 6 string bass there! I just love Status!
Is that a left handed Status S2 5 I see before me?
20. The Funk, that wasn't for you, I apologise.
21. It's time for one of Alex's screen shots of comparison frequency graphs. There is NO susbstitute for actually trying loads of different set ups in your band. It can take years to find a tone you like, it depends how fussy you are. As for Ampeg not being hifi enough thats a load of bull and the adjective "hifi" used in bass amplification grinds my gears. I totally agree with what Alex says, if you don't want blunt then how much sugar do you want on it?
22. Thank you my fellow left handed bedreaded metal monster.
23. Leave it Ricky! That's a nice colour anyway.
24. A few more pics. The neck is fine now, just a few more tweaks to do. I put some D'addario Pro Steels on it yeasterday, they sound fine but they're tough on your fingers and hard to slide on. It came with a set of nickel D'addarios and they felt much easier to play but I do like the punchy zing of steel strings.
25. Hi Kev I got the neck sorted, just used a big f**k off screwdriver. These buried truss rods are a pain in the arse to set, It took 4 goes and it's still not there but I had to leave it as I was taking it out to rehearsals. Back from said rehearsals and it sounded great for our heavy numbers but the design fault on pickups, flat pup, radiused fingerboard, meant lower output from the A and D strings. Have you ever seen A.J. smile? He's a serious cat.
