  1. Nice 👌, can’t beat a CAR jazz
  2. Beeswax would help but the harder wax is more effective
  3. Hi and welcome , sounds like the flea jazz would be ideal, they do come up in your price range, there was one for sale on here
  4. As some have said, candle wax or a soap bar is ideal for screws, especially into hardwoods, I used to own and work in a joinery shop and every bench had these
  5. Can’t exactly remember but I think mine did clip on, was a great setup back then, I played lots of pubs in east London with it
  6. My first proper rig was a HHIC 100S head with 2x15 cabs, I’ve never seen one of those amps before though , looks cool
  7. I don’t play short scale but what a lovely bass, GLWYS
  8. I was never a fan of madness but I did like the occasional specials track, anyone remember this
  9. The new Johnny Osbourne single, nice tune
  10. Best tune by black uhuru in a long time
  11. Welcome PetieT
  12. Very true mr chilli 👍
  13. Hi Brian, according to my book the small registered trademark R was used until 77, then they started using Schaller but I’ve seen some 1980 ones with the R, maybe it’s early, here’s a 1969 with no R
  14. Recent 73 listed by Andy Baxter, looks like someone has oversprayed it https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1973-fender-precision-bass-sunburst-4
  15. View to a kill is my favourite 👌
  16. Thanks Al , I do like a bit of Ampeg, I’ll take a look
  17. I’ve got one of the newer ones, this must recent as there’s normally some for sale, looks like they are not in till September ish
  18. Sounds feasible as I don’t think natural finishes were available in their catalogs until the early 70s , I’ve read that blonde was the standard transparent finish they used , I think it was a furniture lacquer, perhaps someone has more info here 🙂
  19. A bit late but I came across this while reading up on a few custom colours, think it’s pretty much what was mentioned
  20. Hi and welcome There’s an Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-110 , in mint condition for sale in the classifieds here for £150, it’s a quality amp and would be ideal for what you’re looking for
  21. Love it 👍
  22. He’s found the original pickguard now
  23. My 71 is 40mm and really not much different really in profile to my jazzes , The precisions with the A neck 38mm are quite sought after by some, you don’t see them very often, I missed out on one here a few years back, it was listed while I was travelling and by the time I replied it was sold
