I know there’s many people on here that have a great knowledge of vintage fenders, it’s a big interest of mine, and Inspired by a few other threads where various questions have been asked about things like, serial numbers, bridges, cases, pots, pickups , wiring , tuners etc , some great answers and information came back . so I thought this would be a good place to share it. Also if you have a vintage fender please show us 🙂

Is that the headless one, I’ve seen Earl falconer play many times but I’m not sure if it’s a Hohner or a steinberger , but it sounded great

I don’t know what parts you’ve got yet Dan, but I’ve got a bridge you can have for free that came off a mim fender jazz, the D screw head has a bit of rust but it works fine, if it’s any good to you .

I’ve got the Tamlins pumping this morning, great old tune and at 3.20 the bass is spot on, a good one to play

I bought a bass from a shop in Amsterdam and I asked if I had to pay any duties, and I was told no because the vat had already been added by the shop , so it only cost me the price that was shown 🙂

It would have been Exodus or Natural mystic by Bob Marley and the wailers around 1978 , I then went on to learn the whole album, and I still play it now.

I ordered a leopard print one from China, for £2.79 , delivery time is August 🙂

I only remembered it because I bought one of the little magnifiers 😁

I use the ibassline fretwraps , but I’ve had some of the cheap ones before and tbf they did the same job ,but didn’t last as long, just check the sizes if for example you play a jazz, because some come up big.

I’ve still got one Steve I found it in an old bass case I had in my loft 😁
