  1. The blues scale was the first thing I learned when I started playing at 14 , my bass tutor was a blues player , it’s a great genre, so much feel , a good video I have saved is this one by Scott Whitley
  2. Hi ya blue, glad all is well 👍
  3. So that’s 3 of us so far , if anyone else wants to join us please send 1 months rent to reggaebass caves. Com 😁
  4. Looks great tegs, I’m not normally a fan of black blocks but it matches really well 👍
  5. Really nice Dave, a 115 and a 2x10 seem to go together so well, great choice 👍
  6. Nice Bassline with the pauses and the drummer is great
  7. Check out this reggae version of Smells like teen spirit
  8. That’s a powerful beast ☝️
  9. A clearer pic of my upgraded mex jazz, it’s had the adagio flats on it for about 7 years now, nice deep thump
  10. Welcome 2020 👍
  11. OMG, that’s cool, I didn’t know barefaced did a 1x18, I know the dubster has 2x18 but they don’t come up very often, reminds me of my reggae sound system days 😁
  12. I’m quite happy with mine , but I totally get what you’re saying about changing it on the quick if you’re playing live , unless you know exactly where the setting is that you need, the VBT would be quicker
  13. I keep coming back for another look 🙂
  14. Yeah I found that, backing either pickups off just a touch alters the sound considerably , then I use the tone knob to dial in what I want further
  15. When I first got my 1998 P bass special, which I bought because I couldn’t resist the candy apple red finish, I didn’t actually like the tone, I’d been playing precisions and jazzes before and this didn’t sound like either with the pickups solo at firs t, but after a fair bit of tweaking you can get very close to a P or a Jazz sound if you want it, I think they just take a bit of time to get used to, it’s by far one of my favourite basses, lots have come and gone but this is going nowhere 🙂
  16. Welcome Andy 👍, what bass is it
  17. That’s very true, I too have never heard anyone say a bad word about BC
  18. Welcome JW 👍
  19. If you fancy a bit of easy listening and nothing too heavy, the album from Kubix is good , track 3 Sunday children is a nice bouncy one ☝️
  20. I noticed that this morning, it wouldn’t load, I thought it was a problem my end
  21. My experience is , it was something I didn’t need but I liked the look of them , and there’s something about glowing valves that’s quite magical, but my ones went back to the shop 3 times for repair , so I’d be prepared for a bit of maintenance and my LB30 needs to go back again, I might just have been unlucky, the markbass tube is a great amp, I would definitely have another, I now use the RM500 and love it , I’ll probably try the Handbox WB100 at some point though 🙂
  22. Thanks jus Lurkin, top man 👍
  23. That’s not far off of something I’d like, would you tag me in if you do a NBD , so I don’t miss it, I’d be really interested how it sounds and plays 🙂
  24. Omg, that’s a beauty, is that an ebony fingerboard too
