That’s the good thing about this thread, it’s what lots of different people are listening to, and at different times, and different ages, I’ve heard some great tracks here that I would never otherwise have heard 🙂

I normally play fender jazzes but I had a Yamaha 414 that I really liked, and after some great advice on the Yamaha thread I went for a 1024 , and it came today from Derry, after a little play my first impression is , it feels great and sounds superb, especially the P pickup with the tone rolled back , I don’t remember the 414 sounding this good, but it was a while ago, overall a really nice solid bass , it’s got rounds fitted which are a bit twangy for me , but labella flats are going on it soon 🙂 not very good pics , it’s dull and wet here 🙂

There’s no doubt about it, they are talented guys, I saw one of them on the Jonathan Ross program , he seemed pretty down to earth, not what I expected

I bought an oasis cd among others from a charity shop just to listen to in the van at work, and it wasn’t for me, it all sounded the same, but a while back I listened to, High flying birds , and it was different in a good way, there’s some really good tracks

Talking about stack knob set ups, I like this one because I like switches 😁, I’ve got a flea bass loom with no plate yet, I’m guessing you have to drill the hole for the switch, also would the switch be able to give me separate use of the pickups or would it be series/parallel

I bought it and @KiOgon rewired it for me and fitted a 0.1uF cap on the neck pup , it sounds superb

This one I sold recently but I’m in the middle of trying to get it back , and my old shell pink jazz 🙂

My Sandberg TT is jazz style, not sure if you’ve looked at any of those 🙂

I’ve got a 2014 US jazz , and it’s by far one of the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot, well within your budget

I’ve got 2 stack knob jazzes and I love em, not only do they look cool, but controlling each pickup and tone individually is great , I will agree that it does take a while and a bit of playing around to get used to the settings

From exodus onwards I bought all the albums as they came out , Uprising is another great one

Yeah , I’ve just had a flick through and it sounds good , there’s some different stuff on their site too , I’ll explore it more when I get home, I like this one

I wouldn’t stop playing them for that reason, my instruments of choice are jazzes and precision’s, but I do look closer now if I’m buying one, than I used to 🙂

It’s been re listed at £400 , I think lots of people are wise to this

It’s a curious one, unless I missed a special model , I don’t think they did this spec on a 2019 us jazz , I’ve found the reply I got when I asked the model details, Hi there its similar to the deluxe in that its Active EQ but its a standard Jazz Bass with Rosewood neck Cheers
