Making anything is good experience Si, no two things are ever the same, woods have different grains and structures, it also gets you used to the feel of the tools , in some joinery shops the first thing you are asked to do is to make something straightforward, just so they can see how you work and how you handle the tools and machinery 🙂

I used miss RB’s hair bands for years before Fretwraps came out , she wasn’t too pleased sometimes 😁

Do you mean a fret wrap , It cuts down the overtones of the open strings and stops them ringing out 🙂

When I changed my precision neck for a jazz neck I personally couldn’t hear any difference, it was just more comfortable for me to play

A P bass body with a jazz neck is the perfect configuration for me, I’ve got 2 , the P bass special has a great jazz neck 🙂

That looks even higher rich, when I tried it fretting was fine but the right arm and shoulder was really uncomfortable
