  5. I don’t think I’ve played one song correctly after one listen, I played a zz top song once for fun which was fairly straightforward but it still took more than one listen
  6. A friend of mine who plays precision’s all the time has spoken very highly about the , Bass collection P basses, I’m not sure but I don’t think they are active, might be worth taking a look at them

  10. For many years I used shops to set up my basses but always ended up having to tweak them myself after, so I now do basic setups myself, anything specialist like fret work, or work to the electrics I leave to the shop
  11. Cruising through Chigwell listening to Horace Andy
  12. Both posted at the same time t-h 😁
  13. Junior Murvins cool out son , joe gibbs did an instrumental version called cooling out , but I like the vocal
  14. Yeah basically, Sorry geek I have to go to work now, but if you set the neck straight and it still buzzes on the upper frets then it sounds like the heel is raising 🙂
  15. With the neck straight and no relief your strings shouldn’t be touching anywhere if your saddles at the bridge are set right 🙂
  16. Just so I understand it correctly, if you set the neck dead straight with the strings at tension and 2.5 mm gap at the 12th fret , what happens then ?, by rights you should get no buzz anywhere unless there is a fret problem , all my basses are set at about 1.5 with no buzz unless they are played hard 🙂
  17. Al Campbell Turn me loose, classic bassline
  18. Sometimes I put the artist or song into Discogs , it’s quite handy for their history and a bit of info , then I see if it’s on YouTube for a listen 🙂
  19. Lovely b5 👍 GLWYS

  23. Definitely 👍, as long as it’s nothing by will young
  24. That looks like tonewood to me 😁
  25. i don’t play much in a band now apart from the occasional get together in the studio for fun, or a private party ,but I still play every day because it’s what I enjoy doing , I think you can learn a lot from playing different styles which improves your playing overall, I think it’s worth a shot, what’s the worse that can happen 🙂
