  1. They look like chrome’s to me, really nice strings 👍
  2. Yeah, pretty much, you might find a few tracks that use some lower notes or detune, but mainly EADG
  3. There’s about 95 pages below Steve to have a listen through 👍, the Roots Radics have some really nice Basslines by Flabba Holt , and there’s a few full albums on YT. I’d also recommend watching Don chandler’s videos , I think you might like them, he’s a great player and you can download the backing tracks, (or I’ll send you them) and you can play over them, I’ve also got the tab, check out this one and let me know if it’s the sort of thing your looking for, if not I’ll find something else 👍
  4. I think someone has put this together as a project, it probably plays well, but not an original US precision 🙂
  5. I’ve never been but hull sounds exiting 😁

  16. Goldmine dub
  17. Yeah definitely drT ,your right, I think he used the acoustic live and the ampeg for recording , Robbie also used a lot of Markbass , I assume he was sponsored
  18. I tried to get one of those but it seemed they were only available in the US , and at the time they were out of stock, the neck on mine hasn’t moved, it keeps it’s tuning really good
  19. That’s what I did with mine
  20. I’ve seen Robbie Shakespeare , Aston Barrett and flabba holt all using ampeg , I’m not saying that’s all they used, but most bands I’ve seen do, including me this is from an interview- Aston Barrett, nicknamed “Family Man” (even before he had children,) is a Fender Jazz Bass player who plays reggae music. Amazingly, he is able to get an incredible upright sound out of the Fender J: Aston is known to use a custom flatwound set of strings. He has said in an interview that custom sizing was chosen from a 5-string set (even though he plays 4-string) and that Fender sends him 6 packs of strings once a year. In studio, Aston uses Ampeg amplification
  21. I haven’t listened for a long while, I’ll check out their later stuff 👍
  22. I’ve spoke with Mike many times, he’s really helpful , he hasn’t had any new stock lately but definitely worth keeping an eye on the site
