    I’ve got 2 jazzes with D’addario tapes , one set about 7 years old and one about 5 years and they still sound great, all that’s happened is they have become very smooth and mellow

    I bought a jazz once that had heavy flats fitted and I changed them to a lighter gauge with no problems, try your strings first 🙂
