  1. last one is the Jazz I think 😉 1st one the Wal circuit ?
  2. I emailed them a few months ago, through the web site, no reply I don't use whatsapp or anything to do with meta as their whole model is not GDPR compliant and I have a duty to protect my customers information. I know most people don't care, because it's free (it's not not really but hey if you believe it is good luck to you) and are happy to take the path of least resistance. My loss, I guess many of you will say, the bass I was interested sold within a few days. But for me if you run a proper biz, and you publish your email address on your website, you have to check your spam folder daily, but the modern biz model seems to be facebook, instagram and whatsapp based, do everything on your mobile-phone style, and only engage with peeps who do the same. You shouldn't need a stranger who reads a forum to message you on a different platform to alert you that you haven't replied to a customer enquiry email and there's a thread (on a forum you are a member of) about lack of comms, again.......
  3. I so want the Woodhead bass to actually produce steam, it looks like it could
  4. Best bang for buck pedal I have bought, better than some £300 ones, real quality, great sounds, takes a battery too so useful as an always on single pedal to help shape your sound into any rig, carry it in your gig-bag type of thing
  5. Inside the pack there's a code which is worth points, and points can be used to buy products, and Bass strings get a lot of points, I got a set of Tapewounds for free using my points - Players Circle they call it, basically a reward for loyalty, which if you like their strings works well. I bought a lightly used set of strings in the pack, from someone on here and joy of joy they hadn't redeemed the points which was a nice Brucie
  6. Guitar Anatomy keep saying they will make Bass necks in the future, but as yet none have appeared afaik which is a shame as the guitar necks are nice
  7. Have you/Happy Jack tried using the players points code - if it doesn't work then they are probably fakes - if genuine then I am sure D'Aaddario will replace the E string or maybe the whole set which would probably be easier for them
  8. I bought a RokSak case from Steve, great deal, mint condition as advertised and quickly posted signed for - all good, many thanks
  9. Electra III now £749 at GuitarGuitar I'm guessing the price was just old stock being priced to sell/differentiated to make room for new stock, but now new stuff actually in stock, and Sandberg have ordered too much stock so need to sell the new ones at a lower price and have discounted to the dealers - the whole industry is overstocked and so much competition from all the used stock for sale - hopefully used sellers will get a bit more realistic about the worth of used instruments spec wise I can't see much difference
  10. using grey or red scotchbrite might yield even more even results, but that looks great, should anyone else try something similar will there be a Swift on the headstock ?
  11. how about a piece of green scotchbrite held in the jaws of a drill, I use that method for cleaning inside tubular holes in gearbox cases where I am just cleaning off some oxidation or for cleaning irregular surfaces , I can use a piece small enough to get in the bore but big enough that it will 'polish' the sides lightly -in your case say a 15mm strip folded on itself will give you a 15-20mm circle without the gap in the middle
  12. Have you double checked with your wife that the 'list of jobs' is clear ?
  13. thanks for replying; enjoy the rest of the afternoon out Callan is the other Revo bass model, solid body Gibsonesque mahogany thing a bit like a double cut LP bass
  14. What is the centre to centre spacing of the pole pieces please, it isn't detailed on their website; I don't understand why pickup manufacturers don't supply more information, in this case TVJ have drawings in the listing showing physical dimensions but omit this vital information
  15. Here's my two classicvibe60s Mustangs, the one on the left has had the board darkened I bought it on here used and I'm pretty sure it had already been darkened, it had been messed with a bit (sorry, upgraded 😉) - I admit the darker looking board was part of the reason I bought it, as was the lightness, but actually the green one is a better instrument imho and the mods I did to that make it sound even better. I did a full 24 hour montys treatment and it did look even darker, such that you could see the contrast between the fingerboard surface and the edge under the neck lacquer but now a few months later that contrast is much less evident. The board is oiled but still has that dry texture that laurel can exhibit, but wood varies (and these are different years, different factories, cort for surf green earlier year and samick for the racing stripes version). I am happy to send you the montys if you want to try it out, no point in spending £20+ on a tub to use just a few grams of it. I'm not sure I'll use it again and will eventually list it for sale
  16. nope, Windows10 pc Edge browser, here's a screenshot of what I now see, which is different to how it was say a week ago
  17. I wonder if this is down to the recent change which means we can only scroll through pages by using next, there is no shortcut to page 2, 3, 4 etc.. visible I have commented on the post being discussed so now it is at the top..
  18. bump in response to non bumping topic there does seem to have been a change as you can now only move page by page by using next...there is no shortcut to page 2,3,4, etc.. showing
  19. fify it might have a warped neck, a broken trussrod, knackered electrics, worn frets and play and sound like cr4p, just because it's a bit road worn doesn't mean it's a nice bass surely
  20. if less than a year old take it back to shop in first instance, if a manufacturing fault then still under warranty, but you will need the shop to go into bat for you, otherwise the warranty is effectively only 6 months and the onus is on buyer to prove fault is manfacturer's You might have been down this road already hence your post I realise
  21. are there no machine shops near you who could do the cutting, drilling and tapping work for you, as long as you have an accurate measurement set and a drawing it's simple for a professional to do it, the smaller guys who do anything aren't always expensive
  22. just needs a lid for your stash
  23. audio pots can vary a lot in the taper, and availability does vary so it maybe the manufacturer fitted a less than ideal pot as that was all they could get at the time, or the supplier sent the wrong spec ones and they used them anyway; one of my Squiers has similar lack of sweep, but another has pretty much the best of all my instruments, both have stock 250kOhm pots, which look the same externally, same capacitors, nominally same pickups; and I've found some CTS pots great, some less so, even though same size and value, because they are different models with different tapers: noticeably when stock dried up during Covid choice was limited and deliveries sometimes fulfilled with what was on the shelf
  24. are the original pickups epoxied into the covers or are the covers just 'glued' on top, usually with a little hot melt glue ? If the latter then you may be able to remove the covers and use them to install replacement pickups if they fit inside the covers - apart from some fancy pickups that are encapsulated in epoxy mostly P covers are just covers. I bought a used set of aftermarket alnico pickups with the bigger eared covers fitted but was able to separate them and then use stock sized covers so they would fit in the cut out in the pickguard without modifying it as the pickups themselves were normal size - I don't know if the pickup winder had just bought cheap covers and hadn't realised they were slightly different, maybe that's why they were sold on because they didn't fit buyers pickguard
