2.
Red Lion Stubbington, with an overfull complement as I think we have both keys & the stand in guitarist. Lucky its one of the larger stage areas!!!!
Have a good one Al! Where's Stubbington? Gigging myself in Eastbourne otherwise I'd have like to come along and see you.

 4.
As described, a 4u ABS Rack Unit for sale- excellent condition. Yours for £25 plus (say) £10 P&P or pickup from Surrey
Hi OHM, I need one of these but not the really deep ones as I only have a Gallien Krueger amp to house at the moment and they are relatively small items as amps go. Do you have dimensions please? Nik
 5.
Nik, live near Gatwick, no more than half hour from Worthing. We gig there at the Half Brick, check the bands website for direct contact www.blues-business.co.uk Alan
Thanks Alan, That's a help. I'm going to chat with the person I mentioned tonight and will get back to you. This would be a Xmas present for them so could be a relatively quick sale for you possibly... What sort of condition is it all in and do you have any pics? Thanks Nik
 6.
Thats filth like seeing Girls Aloud naked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell us more?
 7.
That's interesting that you choose those to gig with over the others, I think Chris May would be proud to hear that.
Definitely!
 8. Hi blues business, Whereabouts in West Sussex are you as I know someone in Worthing looking for a rig like this? Nik
 9. That's a wonderful collection of basses!! How on earth do you choose what to play?
 10. Great basses - you won't be disappointed! Always wanted one myself and still regret not buying one a few years back.. Oh, and Happy 21st by the way!
 11.
Steve - Hmm...i just don't seem to cut through, i've tried boosting the mids on the bass on stage, without much affect, but as i've just mentioned, i've adjusted my amp setup a bit, so we'll how how that goes. Not too sure about swopping out cabs etc, i'm happy with the rig. I think that it's just the following...the F Bass is too polite...too well made, not 'enhanced' beyound the realms of reason, making it an awesome studio instrument, it's so crisp, so clean, so clear, it just sings in there. But on stage, it's not rude enough, not aggressive enough. I tried that new Fender Jazz 24 bass thingy, and the sound was massive...the eq and pickups are totally warped to the max and as a result you get that huge sound, the bass just feels crap in comparison to the F Bass and Marleaux. .. i dunno'...tough one guys!
I think that you've said it all above.. i.e., that sometimes, the high-end boutique basses are just too hi-fi, so they sound great solo or in very controlled situations like studios. But in a live context, they seem to disappear.. It's just my personal opinion but, when we talk about certain bass sounds we love on records, I think there's a tendency to make a very simple mistake about what we think we're hearing. And that's because we're forgetting that those particular bass sounds don't sound the same in isolation as they do in amongst the mix... There's every possibility that if we could hear that particular bass sound we love solo and completely seperate from the rest of the instruments, it would sound quite different to how we perceive it to be when we are hearing it within the mix. So, what I'm trying to say rather long-windedly, is that it's better to go for the bass that sounds great in amongst all the other instruments in the band and not the one that sounds great solo. And because Fender basses have been played on so many of our favourite records that we reference time and time again, maybe that's the way to go?
 12.
Hi I have the Zoom B2.1u and I'd like to set up some simple effects on it but I can't see how I do it. I'd like to have a channel that just has a wahwah. Just that, no amp modeling, no compressor, no other effects... as if I'd just added a wahwah footpedal in the chain. Likewise the flanger and octaver. I'd also like to have the SVT model with each of these things added (on separate channels) I can't see how to do it. Any clues? Thanks OG
It's almost exactly how I use my B2.1.u except I use the Tube model with other things added. Once you've sussed it out, it's really easy.. Good luck!
 13.
Is that a Mk1 Pro? A Custom has two pick-ups and 4 pots?
There were a series of 1 pick up models made specifically like this in the early 90s I believe and they are Custom models as far as I know. I seem to recall there were also some made like this in the early 80s as well, but that could just be my Monday morning senility creeping in already! It's possible that other Wal users like WalMan, Walbassist etc can tell you more as I only use a Pro model...
 14.
Nice one Nik. I must get to see you one day, and may even have another go at getting a gig at the Elms. Been told its got a bit more rocky recently. We did it a couple or three years ago just prior to Christmas to the PRS man checking up on their licence and what we played . Nightmare Just back from a killer night at The Fountain in Chi (always a good crowd singing along there). And the landlord was so happy ('cos he was busier than the Slug & Lettuce next door all night he reckoned) he upped the cash completely unprompted I wish they could all be like tonight!!!! Decent landlord, noisy crowd - including some loverly ladeez - MARVELLOUS
Hi Al, Great to be given some respect by the landlord like that! Thoroughly deserved I'm sure... Regarding gigs, you guys and Tony, our guitarist who books all of our gigs, should have a chat about different venues etc.. See you soon, Nik
 15.
Looking for a cunning plan myself
Mmm.... I know Al, let's share it! That'd be very cunning indeed... And very stupid too! Pint???
 16.
Wow. Two of 'em. I'd have em both if I could, just coz they're great! Methinks the Midnight Wine one could be a steal a steal given it includes the Hiscox case.
Definitely! Must admit to being very tempted...
 17.
Wow! I had no idea you had any Ricks, let alone 3!! Did Old Horse Murphy not get on with the CS then? Looks like a sexy collection - get them in before it rains!!
He's a dark horse Ped, a very dark horse!! That's a great trio Peter and I have to say, the CS looks just fantastic!
 18. We played The Elms in Worthing last night and it was an amazing gig.. Packed house, mixture of people who know us and those that don't and we went down an absolute storm!! Probably the band's best ever gig
 19.
Yeah Nik, break a [s]leg[/s], [s]cab[/s], [s]string[/s], er... just have a good gig!
"Cant make it tonight - with child. Have a good one. I won't use the traditional salutation knowing your luck." Cheers guys! will do...
 20. The sunburst one is a stunner! Good luck with the sale..
 21. Playing in Worthing at The Elms again tonight for any West Sussex Basschatters who may want to come along and heckle, hear how the Roscoe Beck V is sounding, have a pint etc...
 22.
Cheers Nik, yes, not a bad speaker at all. When playing them I wear a one-piece gold jumpsuit, 7-inch heels and a blond wig, an unusual look for a Reggae band Chris
Always good to stand out from the crowd though, even if it could be life-threatening!
 23.
does anyone have the tab to this? theres a bit behind the solo that has some cool fiddly bits in but none of the tab sites have it in. I'm going to try and work it out, but if anyone has the tab to it that'd be great. EDIT: Its OK, I worked it out now.
What a great song! Who did it; was it The Only Ones?
 24.
I had one of these. I've heard them bashed on BC but I loved mine. Haven't been able to play My Generation as perfectly since.
Great for the money and a pretty good copy of that 'Ric' sound..
