Great thread! Nig - do you put your thread ideas through a POD as well?? Not sure if any of this matters in an absolute sense really, since we all play the bass in a unique way and use our amps/effects etc so differently. I heard Ped's V-Bass set up at the SE Bash and it was very impressive, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if ten different bass players used it and they all managed to make it sound different, even though it's a digital piece of kit. At the Bash it was brilliant to hear how wonderful just a solo double-bass could sound (as played by Jake or Bassace) and great to hear Ped's versatile V-Bass set-up doing a zillion and one things.. We literally have the world at our fingertips these days!

Nice thread Jake and yes, you have some fabulous gear.. Look forward to the next update! Always liked Strongroom myself actually, though it's some years since I've been in there..

James[/quote] Andy did some of the records as well, and was with Numan for some years. As for Pino, I've no idea..but that's definitely Andy & his Wal Pro 1. Besides, Pino didn't use Wals as far as I can remember..

It's not Pino... That's actually a good mate of mine called Andy Coughlan playing a Wal Fretless Pro 1.. He also has a couple of other very nice Wals in his kit bag as well, including one he calls 'Old Bluey' because it's a special one off light-blue colour. A fantastic player, these days Andy does a lot of double-bass work, but he still does a lot of gigs with his Wals, including Cerys Matthews amongst others.

Hi Folks Just learning this song but haven't found a decent TAB online that seems to fit the song chords, especially in the chorus. I have tried 911tabs, Ultimate-Guitar Tabs as well as Bassmasta, but none of them seem to have a really good, definitive version.. I think it's one of those basslines that was written & recorded on a synth, which might explain why I'm having particular trouble with it? So, if anyone's got a TAB version of it that they can share or any clues on it generally, i'd be very grateful! Cheers Nik

Very unique collection of basses!! Being a bit of a traditionalist, I really love the look of the Sadowsky, but the Ritter and the Kennedy certainly have a 'wow' factor' about them!
