Hi Folks Withdrawn as a) I'd forgotten about this thread and the pedal's too good to sell (finally spent some time with it..) So.... I bought this Reussenzehn Daniel D valve pedal from voxpop in February. Before buying it, Mark (voxpop) really sold it to me and I have to say, everything he said in his For Sale thread HERE and when I spoke to him about it directly, is spot on; this really is a fantastic unit that produces a really warm, valvey tone that makes a huge difference to the overall presence of your sound when playing live!! And as a bonus, it provides a real gain boost which is particularly useful if you use passive basses like I do.. The reason I'm selling is that not long after this arrived, I also bought a Hughes & Kettner Crunch Master pre-amp from owen, sold the Eden Metro combo I had and replaced it with a Hughes and Kettner Bassbase 600 head.. So now I've got more valves than I need and something really does have to go. After a bit of A / B-ing between the two pre-amps, I've decided to keep the Crunch Master because it also works as a 10-watt valve amp in it's own right which is useful for home practicing, but it really was a close run decision, as the Reussenzehn Daniel D valve pedal does sound equally as good. It's in pretty good condition, works perfectly and comes with the PSU, which is adapted for UK useage. As Mark said, it's a rare beast, but there is some info about it on the net here if you want to know more: Reussenzehn website (Look on the 'Musiker' page under bass preamps) Harmony Central Disco Fred's Effects database Here's some photos, but please PM me if you'd like any more: Mark's thread also had a picture of the inside of the unit, which he'd upgraded quite considerably and though the picture isn't there now, i've seen the work he'd done and it's very tidy.. According to the website, these retail at 189 Euros new but I'm looking to for £80 plus P&P in the UK, which is a bit less than I paid for it . If you're interested and want to know more, please PM me. Thanks for looking Nik

Hi Folks ON HOLD PENDING THE USUAL... An amp that I've wanted for a long time has finally come my way so I'm having to sell some things in order to fund it..So, without further ado, I'm looking to sell this Line 6 FM4 filter modeler for £90 + p&p. New price seems to be somewhere around £170-£180, so this is a fair price I think... I bought it here on Basschat in January (for £100) and it's in very good condition and works perfectly.. It comes with the box, manual and importantly, the original PSU. Here's some photos: It's a great unit, with some really exciting sounds possible and is surprisingly good for bass.. For anyone into that Bootsy Collins, P-Funk vibe, this is a great box of tricks.. However, it also has some interesting synth sounds that can really add something to your sound; I used it like that at a few gigs where our keyboard player was away and it helped fill the sound out a lot. But with GAS calling, I'll have to resort to my trusty old Boss FT-2 and Zoom B1 for a while.. Anyway, see here for more info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFwI7AniQrI http://line6.com/fm4/ http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1222...CFYEc4QodcHqHAQ And Harmony Central reviews here: http://www01.harmony-central.com/products/3713 Here's some of Line 6's blurb about it: FM4 effects modes: • Tron Down • Tron Up • Seeker • Obi-Wah • Voice Box • V-Tron • Throbber • Spin Cycle • Comet Trails • Slow Filter • Octisynth • Synth-O-Matic • Attack Synth • Sytnh String • Growler • Q Filter FM4 Specifications Digital Effects 16 Factory Presets 20 User Programmable Channels 4 Controls Effect Selector, Freq, Q, Speed, Mode, Mix Additional Controls EX-1 Expression Pedal (optional) Mono/ Stereo Stereo in/ Stereo out Chassis Color Purple Dimensions Length: 10-inches/25.4 cm; Width/Depth: 6-inches/15.24 cm; Height: 2.375-inches; Weight: 3.1 lbs I'm happy to answer any questions, post anywhere and for anyone near enough who is interested, happy if you want to come and have a play with it and have a cuppa! Thanks for looking Nik

Is a compressor of any real value in fast rock music?
Awesome. Thank you.
+1 I haven't looked back since Si helped set up my DBX MC6 at the SE Bash in November...I had it for almost 3 years beforehand without ever understanding it, and now, slowly, i'm getting to grips with the principles of it.. Really comprehensive explanation - like Si's workshop at the Bash, and these sorts of threads really make a difference! And not being afraid to experiment too.. We're very lucky on Basschat that people like Si are around to help! -
I'm good. I've gone pure jazz these days - reading chord charts and everything! Of course that means I've started wearing turtle-neck jumpers and corduroy jackets. The sonic blue 5-string Spitfire is a joy!!!
Cool! That sounds fab - any photos ?? -

Think I've heard and played this one at the 'Walfest in 2006... From memory, it's got a fantastic tone, determined in part by the wenge facings which give it more edge than some of the other facings often used by Wal! But as well as that, it has all the versatility that comes with the Wal electronics.. Good luck with the sale!

Very nice indeed, Rob!! How do they sound in comparison to each other? -
"Whats better? a 2x15 or a single 15?" Neither. The solution is two 1x15s. It's the best of both worlds. Small gigs, take one, bigger gigs, take two. No slipped discs, and they're easier to fit into cars. Whilst I'm sure there is a difference in tone between the same two 15" units housed in one box or housed in two, I doubt that you'd hear it on stage. C
+1 Having that versatility is worth it's weight in gold...

Lovely looking bass - congratulations! Always fancied a Ken Smith 5 myself ... I also had a play on one of CK's Smiths (a 6 er) at a SE Bash a few years back and it was superb; amazing tonal clarity, beautiful neck profile and a real looker! Enjoy
That is gorgeous. Nicely photographed - vase of flowers is a nice touch too.
+1 Great basses these..still regret the fact that I no longer own one.. From memory, these are quite unique instruments electronically because the tone controls act like a toggle switch and, depending on where they're set, change the pick ups from humbucker to a single-coil setting. Good luck with the sale!
I see, well if it sounds as good as it looks, you are on to a winner. Lovely bass.
+1
i forgot to say gill is a gent to deal with tempting this one but i cant justify it at the moment
+1 Gill is great to deal with; very upfront & honest.. Looks after his gear very well and as can be seen in the photos, has very good taste in basses!! Good luck with the sale..
