  1. Great basses, the T-40s... Particularly favoured by bass players in Nashville apparently. I've had a couple over the years and they're brilliant to use, really clever electronics and very versatile. GLWTS 👍
  2. Is it the one you bought from me originally?
  3. It did thanks Pete! Good to meet you too and thanks for the cab.. 👍
  4. That's a bargain, right there! These Schecter Diamond P Basses are incredible, great build quality, hardware, sound and playability ... Great seller too! GLWTS
  5. Hi Folks, I had the pleasure of finally meeting @Leftypeteyesterday to buy a Genz 112 cab from him. Pete's a great person to deal with and yet another highly valued and respected member of the Basschat community, so deal with him with absolute confidence! Thanks again Pete and all the best for now, Nik
  6. I had an '84 Jazz Sound back in the mid Noughties. It was a beautiful bass, which I (rather stupidly) traded with The Beedster in 2008 for a 5 string Musicman which I needed urgently at the time for the covers band I was in... Anyway my sellers remorse aside, the point of the story is that the '83 model I had was better than a 1966 Fender Jazz that I'd owned in the 90s - that's how good these Tokai Jazz Sound basses are from that era IMHO! Oh, and @Steve Browningis an absolutely top block and a pleasure to deal with, so you'll be in very good hands should you want to buy this bass. GLWTS Steve 👍😊
  7. So, I had a bit of a play with this amp for the first time in a while yesterday... Gotta say, with the Aguilar 212 cab pictured, it makes one hell of a glorious sound - especially with a P Bass! Loud, punchy, fat and warm tones on the one hand, which will work for just about any kind of music... And then, just by using the mid and treble switches, you're into that gnarly, cutting straight through the mix rock/punk territory. It's full of character, this amp... When comparing it directly with my Mesa M-Pulse 600, the Mesa is definitely the more refined and tame sounding of the 2 amps. The Ashdown is definitely more 'alive', 3-D sounding to my ears. And the CTM-100 wants for nothing in the (perceived) volume department either. Obviously, this is completely subjective, and my ears are hardly in mint condition themselves after 45 years of being in bands, but in a straight up A/B with the M-Pulse, this amp more than holds it's own, and then some. Having said all of that, I do need to move it on (as I typically have my eye on something else), so I'm going to drop the price to £500 to see if that sparks some interest. Enjoy the Sunday weather folks - it's going to be a hot one! 🌞😁
  8. Likewise Phil, and a pleasure to meet Mrs RicksterPhil too... ☺️
  9. Really pleased to hear that , Phil! 👍☺️
  10. Just had the pleasure of meeting @ricksterphil who's bought a Custom NR Thunderbird from me. Nice easy transaction, good comms - just as you hope for here on Basschat. Hope you enjoy the bass, Phil and here's to next time! Cheers Nik
  11. This was mine once upon a time ago... It was a great bass for the money even then, before your upgrades @Paolo85, so it must be a whole lot better now! GLWTS 👍☺️
  12. Looks great Alex 👍☺️ I'm so pleased that Mick's old Markbass head found a new home too... Very true about the BC Marketplace - there's a lot of great gear available at very reasonable prices.
  13. That's true! 😂 Happy Birthday btw, Chris!
  14. Thursday morning BUMP for this all valve, Ashdown classic! ☺️
  15. That's a great looking rig! Bet it sounds fabulous too.... GLWTS
  16. Quick update to say that the bass is currently 'on hold' until Saturday....
  17. Fabulous - love those old Dimarzio pick ups! GLWTS.
  18. You definitely are cool enough, Steve, hence the calibre of musicians company that you keep!
  19. It's a set neck Brian, I just don't have any confidence in courier companies for jobs like this these days..
  20. 😂 That's like me when I went through my 'Roscoe Beck V string' period... I had 5 of them over 10 years - it got more than just a little excessive and silly! 😁
  21. I don't know if there's any difference sonically between a China built and a UK built model - probably not - but instinctively, I would think a UK built one would hold a higher resale value.
