1. No one know much about these basses. I'm seeing it tomorrow I'll post a pic if I buy it!
 2.
The poor man's 57 setup is another option.
The elastic bands looks a bit crazy but the one with the modified fishman looks cool
 3.
I sometimes use a DPA 4099 mic via a headway preamp.
That looks good what about the ATM350?
 4. Cheers I was thinking about clip ons though I know audix do a mic for brass instruments
 5. Hi Folks looking for a mic to blend with my pick up so I'm after some suggestions, any idea much appreciated.
 6. A bloke contacted me through the Rickenfaker facebook page and asked if my Ibby was one of these, I did a bit of quick googling and found this http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/...ng-c231689.html
 7. Hi folks I have a chance of picking up a Romanian bass badged 'Michael Poller' as a back up just wondered if anyone has any views on them, I've yet to see it but imagine it'll be a laminate, although they make carved basses. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of them and how they size up in relation to other student level basses Stentors and the like, Steve on here has one and he has been very helpful, just looking for opinions. Cheers Stevie
 8.
Another good one is " I want what I paid for it" Why? it's six months older and had had one more owner lol! just accept depreciation
In some circumstances if I picked some up at well below the market value, I would try and get what I spent on it back as opposed to flogging it on for a profit.
 9. I had a Boss Me50B that I thought was very good...
 10.
INteresting. Mine has a hole for the endpin already built into the material.
Mine has one as well unfortunately.
 11.
I got one on ebay a couple of weeks ago for £33 (bid not buy now) There was one on there for 99p but it had days to go.
That's really cheap I lost the rubber foot from my endpin and it poked through the material in the bag, now my zip is a bit goosed it's infuriating, you can't exactly get a needle and thread out and mend it!
 12. Unfortunately they are quite pricey, I have a Gewa I picked up second hand for 70, maybe a local violin store might have something?
 13. Time for the iPlayer!
 14.
They don't know how to EQ properly. That's all it is.
What he said....
 15. Put a £70 quid set of strings on it, but the rubber foot on the stand has seen better days anybody interested I'll post some pics. This is going to the bay soon! SOLD Cheers Stevie
16. Looking good man
 17. That stentor looks very like one of the ones I have which is great, I've also got a Stagg which is awful bulky.
 18.
What's the bass response on those little EA cabs btw? I'm assuming it's a Wizzy?
They are CXL 112s one is the L and the prospective new addition is the E
CxL 112L - The CxL 112L, like all Euphonic Audio amps, boasts remarkably flat frequency response. But this can also crank if you need it to, with a power rating of 350 watts and 130db sound pressure level. It also goes lower than any other EA speaker.
19.
The speakers in the EA cabs will be good quality, sensitive units. Should be no problems, you shouldn't need to push the amp as hard to get the required volume as you would with inferior units No doubt someone more clued up will add something but i tend to think of it this way - quality and efficiency of cab/driver is more important than the numbers on the back!
Cool that's great just what I wanted to hear!
 20.
It will certainly send its full power to them (well, half of it to each cab - so 275 watts each). But it depends what you mean by "drive" them? There should be plenty of volume....
Cheers for the reply, I might be wrong here, but is it the consensus that it's better to have a more powerful amp than the speakers? I'm quite happy to get 275 out of each cab on the few occasions I might use 2 cabs but was worried that the more powerful cabs might adversely affect the amps performance if that's not the case great stuff.
 21. Hi Folks I recently purchased an amp 550 watt into 4ohms or 350 into 8 ohms, I got my hands on a compact EA 1x12 350 8ohm cab to go with the amp. However, I'd like to get the full 550 out of the amp, I now have the chance of buying an identical cab which would allow full power from the amp at 4 ohms (I think). My questions is will the amp have enough power to drive the two EA 350 cabs or not? Cheers Stevie
 22. Hi can you just get a day ticket? I fancy it but don't reckon I could do the overnight.
 23.
Thnaks - I may have succumbed at GAK by then
Lol
 24. Lol to be honest I got it as a complete bargain and wouldn't really be looking for that much but it's the shipping too much hassle!
 25.
OK, no problem. I just tried one in GAK (in cream covering not black) - sounded good for the size.
Yeah they are great but I just got an Iamp doubler so if I can get a small cab for that then it'll be surplus... I'll give you a shout if I decide to sell it.
