  1. Well the yellow strat has been finished and has been delivered and the fella is really happy with in fact he paid me more than the agreed price so that’s s bonus!! The skip find is almost ready for spraying, and on a side note I’ve just started making a Les Paul/Tele hybrid (which is for me) it’s going to be orange and it will have a Maple tele style neck and black hardware............. 😀
  2. Yeah me to I prefer Maple generally but the Rosewood does look better.........😀
  3. Another couple of precision bitsa’s That I’ve almost finished just electrics to do..........😀
  4. @KiOgon I’ve wired it up like that and no sound came out apart from humming, and the same thing that happened with my P the hum got louder when I touched the strings so I’ll have a look at the bridge ground to check that but as part of the course I checked the pickups and they hadn’t gone open the neck is 12k and the bridge is 15k which seemed a bit high to me as aren’t active pickups supposed to have a lower output than passive? I did think that if it’s a problem with the preamp and not the wiring could I rip out the preamp and just put 2v 2t passive wiring in or wouldn’t that work?? But I need to try and investigate a bit more on what the problem is, if you’ve got any advice at where to start I’d gladly accept any ideas............😀
  5. I’m trying to wire up my Washburn XB-600 6 string and I’ve connected up the battery and the jack but I can’t find a wiring diagram for the pickup wiring Sorry about the bad drawing but I hope you get the idea Does 1 go to 1 and 2 go to 2 if so where does the grounds go? do they go on the side of the pot where I’ve written ground???
  6. I sorted out the problem with the loud hum when you touched the strings by putting some Alu foil underneath the ground wire that went to the bridge but now my volume and tone pots make a really loud hissing/humming sound apart from if they are on full or fully off!?! I think I need to completely overhaul the electrics!!
  7. At first I thought you were taking the gear porn title a bit too literally............😜
  8. Looks great!! Much more professional looking than my attempt!! My only criticism is that it’s a shame about the bass it’s fitted to!!........😜
  9. Yes please I’ll have them, how much for postage?
  10. If you want a Union Jack I wouldn’t try and spray it I would get a skin it would make your life a lot easier.........😀
  11. Logo now done just need to fix it on..........😀
  12. A fella I used to work for was a stickler for planning the job to the minutest detail before you start, the amount of times he quoted the 6 P’s at me (Perfect Planning Prevents P iss Poor Performance Blah Blah Blah!!).............😀
  13. I don’t think anyone would believe that haven’t you seen my other builds!!!.........🤣
  14. Thanks @Andyjr1515 I was starting to think ‘yeah I think they are right it is way too big!!’ But then as it progressed I thought it’s kinda got the look of a vintage tube amp about it, which to be perfectly honest was more luck than judgement??............😳
  15. Maybe a long shot but is this still available?
  16. Looks lovely mate!!..........👍
  17. I was going for the vintage look on this one, the cab will match it but the cab will be just rectangular and the front of it will be replaceable so I can make it look a bit more modern if I do a different style head............😀
  18. It’s almost done just need to put my logo on it and wire in the jack socket on the back I don’t think it’s come out too bad for s first attempt...........😀
  19. I like that one!.........😀
  20. The lower horn and the bridge end is quite angular then the top horn is curved I would probably try and make it a bit more angular so it ties in with the rest but don’t get me wrong it does look good the way it is.............👍
  21. Don’t go give me ideas!!
  22. Done a bit more yesterday......... Just need to cut the bottom and cover with some black faux leather I’ve found at work............😀
  23. Here’s the original body back on I’m thinking of removing the block as I don’t think they go too well with the body or I might change them to white instead............😀 i weighed the bass before I changed the body and it weighed 5.4kg and now with the original body back on it weighs 3.6kg...............👍
  24. It’s really not that big it’s only 300mm wide x 150mm high it would look a bit pathetic of it was only just bigger than the control plate as that is 210mm wide x 45mm high
  25. @Soledad is a great guy he gave me a set of strings for free, posted them for free and I received them in 3 days from first message Thanks again
