This thread seems to have stalled a bit so I don’t know if people are interested in carrying but here’s a really easy one to kick start it again (maybe)???!
I have a problem with them because I made a comment about being chuffed with my new Warwick RB Corvettes on one of the threads and was met with a barrage of abuse about they aren’t real Warwicks and they shouldn’t have the Warwick name on them blah blah blah!!!!! 🤬
I have to agree I’ve been on it a few times and I’d like to see most peoples opinions who are on it but I can’t fit my head up their A***holes as well!!...............😀
The problem I’m finding is trying to do a bass line that
1. Isn’t instantly recognisable because that makes it far too easy
2. Try and do one that is recognisable but not too obvious
But 2 I’ve done recently have fallen flat on their face because they don't fall under either and also my playing isn’t great so that makes it even more challenging 😳
I have a standard P bass and soon to finish a 51/54 P bass so I thought I’d make a 72 style P bass as well to complete the set!! (I don’t think I’m missing any p bass styles but please correct me if I’m wrong!!)
Its going to be P/J pickup config body is going to be bright yellow with black pickguard/hardware possibly a black neck I haven’t decided yet?? but if I decide not to have the whole neck black it will probably have a black faced headstock tho
Just got to fill in some of the pickup cavity first................😀
If your using a template as @Christine said on a previous thread use a guide pin to control the amount you are removing in one pass if it’s more than about 3mm if it’s less than that you could probably remove it in one pass but don’t try and do it too quickly as you run the risk of tear out but don’t do it too slowly or you run the risk of burning the wood which can be hard to sand off??
Whats the length of your cutter is it less than the depth of the body if so you will have to raise the cutter once you’ve done the first pass then go round it again then raise it again etc till your above the top of your body??
Your arrows are going the wrong way you never go with the direction of the cutter you always go against it, are you using a template to trim the body or are you trying to do it freehand?
I don’t understand what you mean by the uphill/downhill part?
You got a good deal I was looking and the cheapest one I could find was £85 + p&p
I really like the Wenge and Padouk neck but they don’t seem to do it as a bass neck and it’s well out of my price range
They’ve changed their name to Freestone Guitars but are still selling under Hilimire guitars on eBay..........😀
I’m taking a leaf out of @Ricky 4000’s book and just going to throw this one into the mix!!
Once again please excuse the playing it’s another one I thought flip it I’m gonna give it a go!! I don’t quite know what happened at around 7 seconds it’s not like that in the original recording?? Also I keep forgetting I’m not as good as the others on here but I try my best.........😀
