  1. One other idea I've been toying with is to plant some 2" timber on the back of the headstock then cut the angle for the new headstock the front is going to be cladded with 2mm Oak to match the top body cap so that will hide the joint I think that if it will work this would be the easiest option and the strength of the neck wouldn't be effected?.......... πŸ€”
  2. Yeah that makes sense, I think that it's going to be a lot of p155ing about! It will probably be easier in the end just to make a neck!?!
  3. @Christine that's kinda what I was thinking I would have to do or the other way I was thinking maybe cut the neck at the headstock at a 14Β° angle just past the nut then cut the neck back straight then joint the two peices back together with dowels or strengthen the joint?? What do you think?? πŸ€”
  4. I think that's how music should be played with passion and presence! Flea is one of my bass idols so stuffy and refined just doesn't sit right with me!! 😁
  5. I think that I'm going to do this build as a Fortress instead of a Corvette I'm still going to still keep it as a $$........ πŸ˜€
  6. Glad to see you back, can't wait for the updates!!.............. πŸ˜€
  7. That's one hell of a power stance!!! 😁 Love the Fortress aswell!! ...... πŸ˜€
  8. I've just got into The Pretty Reckless
  9. Sorry my mistake it's feckin gorgeous tho!! I would gladly have either!! Come to think of it I would love to have any ACG basses, shamefully I did borrow the shape of his Recurve SC for my neck through build but it's only because I can't afford for him to make me one!!......... 😁
  10. I think that ACG take on a Jazz bass is awesome I much prefer it over the classic Jazz shape even the non-exotic are stunning................ 🀀 If you haven't guessed yet I'm very jealous!!
  11. The strings were off one of my other basses and there was no fret buzz on it, its just a bit confusing................ πŸ˜•
  12. I really need some advise please!! I've just changed the strings on my P bass from flats back to rounds and now I've noticed that I now get fret buzz on the 3rd fret if the D string but nowhere else I've checked for high/low frets with my rocker and they are fine no rocking at all, Could it be a difference in tension that has caused the neck to convex a tad??............ πŸ˜€
  13. Here's my recently refinished P!, It was only a cheap bitsa copy but it plays lovely!! 😁
  14. Great job!! Loving the dark Walnut!!........ πŸ˜€
  15. I dont really know if it really counts as either but here's my offering?.........πŸ˜€
  16. I might try and get tickets for Llanfest this year headliners are The fratellis, The Pigeon Detectives, The Coral and Dodgy??
  17. P/J wins for me too...........πŸ˜€
  18. I hoped that I could push this build on a bit but the truss rod I bought was faulty and the wrong fret wire was sent they sent brass instead of nickel so they both went back and I got a refund so I need to order them again from a different supplier I've been reading about flat fretboards I'm tempted to do that on this build I did read a thread on here from about 8 years ago on here and it had a mixture of pros and cons and I'm wondering if anybody has a new perspective on the subject?? If I remember correctly I think @eude was a flat fretboard convert............. πŸ˜€
  19. @eude I don't normally like headless but this one (well they are all great but) is especially great !! What is the top wood on it??........... πŸ˜€
  20. This build has stalled a bit due to a stupidly heavy workload at the mo but hopefully I'll be able to push it on a bit next week?? I still can't decide whether to do this as a 4 or a 5 string tho??........... πŸ€”
  21. Oooohh errrr missus!! 😁
  22. My vote would go for Honey if you wanted to have the back lighter than the top or a nice Meduim cherry........... πŸ˜€
  23. Here's the wood for the body and top cap it's nothing special but I think once I've contrast grain filled the oak it will look nice......... πŸ˜€ I think I'll have to rout a cavity in the Sapele before I glue the cap on it as its a tad on the heavy side.............
  24. That Rosewood looks great!! Are you leaving it natural or are you going to stain it?......... πŸ˜€
  25. No worries mate I thought I'd ask, thanks anyway...... πŸ˜€
