  1. Yes, that's what I meant by sideways movement - it's 'not a lot' but can help on some Basses to line up better with pickup pole pieces, or to move a string slightly away from the edge of the fingerboard πŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. I think the only benefits are that they tend to look the part on period Basses and arguably, provide a very small amount of sideways movement to improve alignment with pickup poles or neck.
  3. Thanks, but I'm looking for the 'threaded' style barrels.
  4. Yes, I saw these but didn't know if it was for one, or a set of four, bit pricey for a single barrel - thank you.πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Thank you, I was hoping to be able to just buy the barrels, or even better, the barrels with the string height and intonation screws, if possible being a 'tight old pensioner' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - used ones would be just as good, if anyone has any? πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Hi Guys, anyone know where I can obtain these from please?
  7. These are incredible instruments - the neck on mine is as good as anything I've owned, or even played during the past half Century πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Thanks Twincam - not located my Stanley knife yet, so it may have to wait until the weekend πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Managed to get the bottom of the bridge piece as flat as a Witches threepenny bit and despite a possible slight improvement, there is still a difference in volume - now, where's that Stanley Knife? πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Thank you so much Chaps, your help is very much appreciated πŸ‘πŸ‘ I'll check it out tomorrow and report back πŸ˜ƒ
  11. I have a Tanglewood Shortscale (21") Electro Acoustic Bass which after shaving down the underside of the plastic bridge to lower the action, it appears that the volume on the E & A strings is not as loud as the D & G strings. Can anyone offer any advice please? Thank you πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Bought some strings from Aidan, he is a thoroughly decent Chap, a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend him to all on hereπŸ‘πŸ‘ Thanks again Aidan, all the best Tim
  13. Yikes πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ!!
  14. Wow!! - thank you so much, I didn't even know they existed πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. Thanks Guys, I'll have a scout around πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. Thanks Eude, I can imagine - 'good morning - kerching, how may we help you kerching' ? ☹️☹️
  17. Does anyone know if Warwick ever produced a German made Thumb Shortscale four string?? The long scale I had was way too heavy and too much of a stretch for my old arms ☹️ The closest I've found and it was very good actually, was the Far East manufactured Corvette Shortscale. Cheers πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Hi, sorry it sold on Fleabay and I forgot to amend the post - apologies πŸ˜•πŸ™‚
  19. Another great purchase from Justin πŸ‘ As usual he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and again, I would recommend him to all on here - unreservedly. Thanks again Justin πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. Hi Ian, I think it may be sold, but I'll give you a shout if it falls through - if that's OK? cheers Tim
  21. Great amp, great Guy to deal with πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. PM'd πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Thanks Guys - she certainly is a beaut😍. If only I wasn't a Technophobic old fossil of gargantuan proportions, I could post a sound bite type thingy β˜ΉοΈβ˜ΉοΈπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ!! With the original rubber strings it sounds very much like an upright Bass - (which reminds me, I think I still have the original set of Aguilar Reds somewhere, which I will obviously include - if I can find them). With these new La Bella Silverbacks - it sounds more like a regular Electro / Acoustic Bass to my old cloth ears. Amplified through my little MarkBass 602 Combo, it sounds monstrous - with either set of strings πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘.
  24. 😍Gold Tone 23" Scale Micro Bass fretted, in excellent condition, complete with a new set of La Bella Silverback strings - which are far superior to the original rubber ones. In my humble opinion, these are much easier to play than the two Kala Basses I had before this - those extra few inches on the scale really do make all the difference, as does the cutaway to allow greater accessibility to the higher frets. The electronics and Tuner are superb and seem very high quality. The heavily padded Gig Bag is also in good condition, apart from some slight 'cat scratch' to the front pocket & a small section on the rear. Specifications 23" Scale Recommended Tuning: EADG (like standard electric or upright bass) 19 Frets with Cutaway Arched Back Custom-Made Silverback Strings by La Bella (other string options available) Mahogany Neck Mahogany Back and Sides "Ergo-Glide" Top Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge Bone Nut (1-11/16") Custom die-cast tuners Built-in Piezo Transducer w/ Electronic Tuner and Slide Control for the EQ - Rotary Volume Control 23" scale model specifics: 36" Total length (modeled after "Baby Taylor" Acoustic Guitar Dimensions) 2.8 Deluxe, Heavily Padded, Embroidered Gig Bag ** Can post to the UK Mainland at buyers expense.- which will probably be around £20 to £25 max. via Parcelforce 24.**
