1. Now down to £580 come on early xmas present
2. Ha ha,luckily I've got mine too,ultra slim neck,27 frets,active EMG Hz,and more woods than a porn film orgy,sits great,feels great,looks amazing and sounds amazing
3.
Been to the Bass Gallery today and tried a MarkBass for the first time (a Jeff Berlin combo). I'm very impressed and am now thinking about selling my 4x10 valve combo in order to acquire one of these. I particularly liked the mid scoop and the speaker simulator - for the most part I left the eq flat. I'm not sure about a combo version but I definitely like the amp. I haven't been this impressed in a long while.
The amps are very nice and do agree with the quotes givin, just bought a 1x12 mb combo, sounds great till you get to about half volume and then the speaker starts to 'fart' on the lows and thats on a four string, theres no substitute for surface area,so you would need an extension cab unless your playin small rooms or with a quite band, anything above that a combo doesnt cut it for me,but I have a 4x10,2x10 and 1x15 to use as an extension so I have got something to compare with.

10.
This has taken a back seat since I bought my ow fretless,my musicman now gets used at jam sessions & it seems a waste to have this gathering dust at home. Neck & frets are in excellent order, low action, great player, body does have some battle scars (mainly around the edges),has brass adjustanut, ser no dates it as 94,no case so collection only, pro quality bass for only £485 (check out the new price) best described as a players instrument, not really looking for trades on this, mike b.
Got one exactly like that and same year too, fantastic bass, the sound of wood,ha ha,cheap as chips too.Good luck with the sale
11. Thats cheap as chips and a great quality well made bass, would of snapped your hand off but have too many basses already, good luck but would be amazed if this doesnt sell really quickly
12. Fantastic bass and great price,I've got a 700 custom, the necks are amazing, wheres 250 quid when you need it,hold on thats what brothers are for! To lend money!hopefully. This wont be on for long though.
13.
Sounds like we are on the same mission! I have gone from... 1 x 15 The big old one. to 4 x 10 Even heavier. to 1 x 15 (1153) & 2 x 10 + 5 (2103). And now want to go 'lighter'.
+1 I have the same trace 4x10 also have a 1x15 and 2x10 and also looking at the light thing after seeing a mark bass rig at the london trade show about a month ago, there was some guy on bass strings stand playing through 2 4x6 newyorkers it blew me away so punchy and believe me it went low(any body else go to it?)
14.
ok..sorry for starting this thread! I was just really annoyed and dont want to go through that sh*t i went through again. Was messed around big time, no organisation, they had no idea what was happening, and was a waste of money renting a mini bus to go up there....friends we took up there i felt bad for, cos they had to go through the sh*t with us... But, you guys were right about gigging london for sure. will defnetly just gig around london now on. Although we have one more in london at the hope and anchor and i hear good things about that place, so hopefully all is not lost on london.
My bro's band have played the Hope(guerilla radio),highly recommended a deffo place to get a gig.RE sh*t venues just put it down to experience, you will laugh about it one day,was there a good crowd though?
15.
MB1. ....John Entwistles Series 1 Status Buzzard Bass.
+1 but if you got it first les claypools ct on the video john the fisherman vodpod.com/watch/1159491-primus-john-the-fisherman
16. Yeh know what you mean re Djs,or they do bring all there gear and a billion watts of lighting, complete with wembley stadium gantry, take up the whole stage, and then look amazed when you cant set up a full band in a 6x6ft,ahh I love em really. Again right about the £££ I would love to say 2k but we dont get those offers, were just not on the same circuit, also wrong music I think, but it is all about the right choice of songs or specific theme, time and place for everything and the fee reflects, leg work and hard work long days and late nights, but at the end of it all, covers, original or tribute band,Ive played in em all and I still love doin it and because I work full time its not for me about the money,I would rather have a great gig and a few quid in my sky rocket, than getting a wedge and not enjoying it,but thats just my two penneth
17. In an age of modern amps, cabs and bass electronics, why do some players just play with a plectrum, surely tonal variety is much wider finger stylie,or are we stuck in a rut.I cant seem to justify using one, except sometimes playing guitar,............discuss
18. I play warwicks amongst other basses, bought my first thumb new in 94,(my god how long have I played bass),that was b4 GASsing was invented,I saw someone playin a thumb and thought f**kin ell I want one.Wish I could remember who was responsible I would like to buy em a pint (may have been Mr Zender) Some say the huge bottom end gets lost in the mix when playing live,I have to agree but add a little compression and it sits perfectly, having said that,it applies to any live bass sound really without getting nerdy(bass hertz off drums etc)As for the weight depends on woods, not as heavy as a fender plank.Pup position and make are the main thing, real early ones are pre mec,so many variations on warwicks, but a deffinate arrow to your bass collection, try em you will love em.Older the better,as with most things, apart from you hand made stuff of course.
19. Agreed,if you got it flaunt it,as for woods my friend has mid eighties maple necked fender tele, fret wear etc, fitted a very expensive custom flamed maple neck, with different contour, bigger frets etc(more gibson flatter and deeper) to prevent choking when bending which is always the problem with fender guitars, now the sound is thinner, but at least no choking .So woods do make a difference after all, unless you can compare b4 and after you wouldnt know for deffinate and that was just the neck!So the moral of the story, dont buy a fender guitar.lol
20. Oh yes Manchester, sorry for not reading fully
21. Would have the 4x10 but would need to sell my trace 1153 1x15 and my 2103 2x10,where are you situated?
22. Thats a cool retro guitar,I should have carried on trying to do early rush covers
23. That is ridiculously cheap, would of snapped your hand off with the warwick still in it if I didnt already have one.Good look but I would keep it if you can
