  1. For anyone who cares or is interested, Anderton's have a number of the Indian made, Chowny SWB Pros in stock, at £850.
  2. I'd be OK with that.
  3. I’m really envious, would love to play in any band again* *Hyperbole, I do have certain red lines
  4. Nice to see Ultravox getting some love recently. I always forget how much I like them. Anyway... Travelling Without Moving - Jamiroquai
  5. Don’t Let Me Down - Beatles
  6. To be clear, I was not likening @lozkerr to the the great Este, merely that Este is the top of the tree for bassface, not only in severity, but also in range. Mine always looks like I’m pretending to have no teeth, by sucking my lips in or a version of the peeved, Dave Gilmour. 2/10 for effort
  7. Clockwork Angels - Rush
  8. Never, ever apologise for bass face. It’s a badge of honour we should wear when the moment arises. All hail Este Haim! I’m just 6’, medium build and have never felt more comfortable than with the Mustang I bought last year. My ‘Ray SS feels a little small, but looks OK. My custom, J shaped, 33” basses look huge on me now IMO.
  9. Tin Soldier - Small Faces
  10. Hot In Herre - Nelly
  11. My old ‘80s band covered RUTH and based cover on the OP version, although we used synth rather guitar for the motif. It appealed to me because of the fretless (our lead singer knew how to get me one side quickly 😆). I remembered it being easy musically, it was the harmony vocals that took the time (as ever). It made the set list, but didn’t seem to go over the way we thought it would, so we dropped it. It’d be a different story today I imagine.
  12. Fever - Peggy Lee
  13. Yep, that’ll do. Very nice.
  14. Not cheap and not, as you said, crazy. That’s a do everything bass. However…
  15. Many years ago, in my guitar playing days, the wife had just received a big bonus and she that I should buy myself a new guitar. I was so surprised that I almost panicked and felt I had to buy it straight away. Fortunately, I managed to get a really good Strat, but I could’ve ended up with something completely wrong. My point is, take your time and enjoy the process, not just the end result.
  16. Boris the Spider - The Who
  17. Moby Richard- LZ
  18. The first ramp I came across was on a Fender Roscoe Beck signature and then on an Ibanez Gary Willis. They seem to have become quite de rigueur with a number of modern players.
  19. Me too, very nice.
  20. On a ‘Ray, I’ve always found the pickup perfectly place for me to rest my thumb when playing the E string. It appears that Tim Commerford likes to have his hand further north (it being his signature model).
  21. Dry County - Bon Jovi
  22. Big Gun - AC/DC
  23. Hole in My Shoe - Traffic
  24. What Is And What Should Never Be - Zeppelin
