had this for a while, super light and comfy with extra upper register accessibility, a bit adventurous visually and sonically though..

Never owned or played 18” until recently, any love out there for these huge things in the 12orless” world? They don’t come up so much used and they seem to be out of Thomann’s catalogue, are they still being made? I picked one up a couple of weeks ago (90’s USA Ampeg, roadworn but working flawlessly, cost 100 including gas) and i’m loving it. I don’t mind the weight and size yet as i’m using it at home only ATM and it sounds great, even at low volume for the midnight noodle it has plenty of super silent and super deep fatness So my question for all the experienced 18”ers: do this 18” hold it’s own live or is a 10 or 12” on top a must? I know my back will say no, but i hope the sound will make it worth it... or will i start hating it after the first gig?

Just received a package from this gent, a transaction smooth and simple as it gets, AAAA+, highly recommended, deal with confidence etc. Thanks again Dave!

Just received another P loom from John, as usual AAAA+ product and service. Not to mention the fact that it was dropped off by John on monday and arrived to my doorstep in Brussels on friday morning despite the postBrexit customs etc. Cheers John!

so i’ve spent about 5-6k on basses in the last year, of course another 1k or so on some other “must have” gear, the last being Vovox cables (300 for 2 cables).. and then realized i’ve played 5 concerts in that same time. But i’ve also recorded stuff so there’s hope in those mp3’s and streams... i’m sure this makes sense in some parallel universe, just like tone woods and such... sorry, i’ll show myself out and join the depression thread...

Not a fan or a scholar, but IMHO this is pure beauty, mesmerizing IMHO, thankful that it happened and that we can still enjoy it, wouldn't dare throwing even the smallest of stones. Obviously not everybody's cup of tea, thankfully there's all sorts of beverages out there for all of us to enjoy. -

This is with me now, got it in a trade with Emiel. A great bass with an excellent neck, very comfortable body shape, beautiful sounds, perfectly balanced, absolutely no neck dive. i was very surprised to see all the complaints on a german forum and am very happy i didn’t believe them. To anybody checking or wondering.. Don’t hesitate if you see one somewhere!
