1. My 79 Pro 1, which I've just sold, had the coil switch on the pick-up surround. BB
2.
Yes, it looks like they're using the same bodies as the Am.Std this time. It's good business sense to delete the smaller body shape they used to use for the Deluxe model.
Am i in the minority speaking up for the smaller size body - I love the look of the jazz and the feel of the necks (on most) but the huge (to me) body size puts me off - loved my Status t-bass Jazz clone but felt it was wearing me when I played it. Blocks and binding do it for me though so these look cracking not sure about the P with the extra pick-up and controls tho'. BB
3. Dave bought my cosmetically challenged Levinson Blade B3 - really nice guy and an excellent player too!! Class act all round! BB
4. What is the difference - I took it the A stood for active - but I thought all 100% graphite Steinbergers were active it was the wooden bodied XP and XM that were passive? Cheers BB
5. Selling as one unit here so pick up only I think this would make someone a good 'rough pub/club' gig set up or even a starter for someone(?) Here is a nice Levinson Blade B3 with serious cosmetic issues but otherwise is fine - I got this off TheBeeps last year - and while it is a fine bass it is extremely heavy at 14lbs and sustains forever! The problem in question is not visible from the front as u can see this was done by neither me nor Alex but you know who u are! Sims quoted £400 to refinish it but nuts to that!!! It has an ebony board, ash body, hardware was gold coloured at some point, big reverse tuners, the old headstock shape before Fender made 'em change it. Actives with a Pre-shape switch for the 5 trim pots inside - Hi, Lo, Mid and 2 levels. controls are vol, balance and tone. comes with new Warwick Rockcase Also an old Peavey Databass combo from my gigging days 450w of digital power!!! This must be the best part of 15yrs old but seems to still work fine even if the pots and eq could do with a clean (one slider cap missing) and it is rather tatty. It hasn't fired a shot in anger outside my house in about 5 yrs and I use it primarily to annoy the neighbours. This combo weighs in at a hefty 78Lbs with the one single stupid handle!! So no weaklings please! Also thrown in is the big ADL leather strap (u will need it!) and the Hercules stand. £400 all in Cheers BB
6. Cheers Mate, that sounds good enough for me! wanting to stick it in the for sale forum and didnt want anyone getting any nasty surprises - although I am throwing in an amp as well so it will be a pick up only (if you will pardon the pun ). Cheers from a fellow Scot BB
7. Had this in the pinned topic above but floating it here too as I need advice quick My Levinson Blade B3 Active Jazz clone hums when it comes within a foot or so of whichever amp its plugged into, the closer the hummier!!! Otherwise it is fine and quiet - it is quite complicated inside with trim pots etc and a huge metal block which I haven't seen on any other bass. I live with it cos the bass was cheap and if u dont go near the amp while actually playing it isnt a problem Any Ideas BB
8. My Levinson Blade B3 is fine and quiet until it comes within a foot or so of whichever amp its plugged into (no effects) Any Ideas. BB
9.
I had one,...only complaint..i found it to be a bit neck heavy...
Well, no wonder. It had the wrong number of tuning keys on it! BB
10. It is USA and 22 frets(99% sure) BB
11. Have been offered a Fender Deluxe Jazz - but not one like I've seen before - it has a Quilted maple cap, is active (18V?), blocks, binding, 4 controls (1 stacked) not sure of year and is nice and light and in mint condition - reminds me of a Victor Bailey (but that has dots and no binding) They are asking £900 is that good or bad or whatever? Looking for something Jazzy to replace my Blade B3 which is unbeleivably heavy. Cheers BB
12. Do you know the weight in these? They look pretty substantial but I know some stores list them under their 'lightweight options' section - Looked at the website but could only see the head on its own weighed 13lb Cheers BB
13.
I'm after £950ono for this only willing to look at trades for Overwater Jazz basses or old style original body shape Overwater's. Cheers
Like this you mean..........................
14. I used to have the actual dimensions for the wal frets and then forgot to tell the luthier who was refretting it who put his own in - Wal frets are wide but very shallow - I think i remember reading it was the same frets they use on Gibson Jumbo Acoustics - Though the 'Wal' sound isn't for everyone I am gassing for a Mach 1, 24 Fretter. BB
15.
It might already be sold .
Not surprising at that price! So many basses, so little time....well bad timing anyway BB
16. Spooky! Just finished watching Peter Gabriel live DVD with Tony Levin playing one of these babies and then this pops up! Lovely! Is this not the CR4 rather than CR4M though? BB
17. Nice one! (Apart from the wife beating bit of course) BB
18.
VERY RARE Basses, both this Vigier and The Dargie Delights. Think you will be lucky to find anyone willing to swap. There was one for sale on the ernie ball forum here. Not sure if its still available? Good luck Leo
is it just me or does that look like a rosewood board rather than an ebony board? Someone somewhere must want to sell a Dargie??? BB
19. BassCentral have several Spyder versions and the list is $15000 retaill $9999! And this one doesn't have the horrible 'lets take the guitarists eye out' V shaped pointy headstock! I like this a lot as I love 'wonky' shaped basses - explorer, t-birds, RDs all Gibsons funnily enough! BB
20. Aren't these new in the £5k - £8K bracket? Bb
21.
Thinking of pulling the trigger on this one Here
Well it didnt sell the first time and was relisted even cheaper and I still f#nnied about over it (this is why I missed the prevaricators Annual General Meeting)so someone else has done the decent thing, anyone on here? BB
22.
No need for D'Ohs just yet, Im still trying to find a Dargie.
Sorry, just panicked cos I had visions of you letting this go for a grand! BB
