Ive bought a bass from Andy once, and there was indeed some space for negotiation. A second time I was interested to buy one, there was no negotiation possible on the price. So your "friend" could just give it a try 🤠

I ended up buying this Fender Bassman Twelve: Not exactly what I was looking for in first instance, but I'm glad I did. Of course it sounds different than Ampeg, but it's a really great sounding amp with some pleasant grit. The 12" sounds tight in my living room, without shaking everything from the shelves. This amp can still be pretty loud though, I'm confident that it's 150 watts will be enough for rehearsals and smaller gigs, in case I'll be playing out again in the future. For Ampeg-like simulation purposes I will use one of those pedals.

Seems kind of correct. I was wondering the same about late '70s Fenders just yesterday. One person lists one way overpriced on reverb, and the rest will take this as a reference. Which results in a lot late '70s Fenders listed at around €3.5k or some even a good bit higher.

Thanks for the suggestions✌️ The amp sounds good at low levels, that's not a problem. It's just a big set with too much speaker surface (I think) for my living room. Even at low levels there is rattling of stuff everywhere. Of course I could go with a smaller cab, but the head is pretty huge and already sticks out on both sides of the 410. The V4B a great amp in very good shape, so in that light I should probably keep it. On the other hand it probably won't be used in the next years, and I still have a nice Peavey T-Max too. I could juice that amp up with some kind of Ampeg simulation pedal maybe...

Hi There, At the moment I have a ´77 Ampeg V4B head with Glockenklang cab in my livingroom (as my band quit almost a year ago, I had to take it home from the rehearsal space). For home use, it is quite a violent set and I dont use it often. I very much like the sound of this set (deep, growl, clarity), but I know I won´t be gigging anytime soon....so actually would be more happy with a smaller and less powerfull combo for daily use. This means I am thinking of selling my set and replace it for a smaller combo that could also have enough power for gigging if required. Anyone has a a suggestion for/experience with a solid state or hybrid combo that has that typical Ampeg sound? All the best Patrick

I think it's kinda cool to see that precision pretty much as how it left the factory, with the LPB finish still being LPB and no discoloration of the neck too. There can't be many like this around. I'd never buy it though as I prefer to see some history on old stuff I own. Aside from the price, as that would be another reason for me not to purchase. For those interested; it might be worth contacting Andy in advance, maybe there is some negotiating possible on the price. His prices aren't always fixed.

Ibanez black eagle 1977 Rare original Ibanez black eagle from the '70s. These basses are mainly known for being used by Krist Novoselic from Nirvana. It's truly a great take on the classic jazz bass. Not only because it's looks (which is a matter of taste of course), but soundwise it delivers a bit more mids than most jazzes do. Probably because of the mahogany body. I've used this bass live with La Bella flats fitted as an all rounder for my former pop/rock band, and used this with both pickups engaged or one of them solood, it sounds solid in all settings. Playability is very good; low action without rattling is possible. There is some fret wear, but is doesn't affect playability. The bass is in very good condition considering it's age. All hardware and electronics work like they should. There is a repaired little crack at the F hole (which most have, if still complete), and otherwise just a bunch of small usermarks and scratches. It's a 5kg heavy piece of awesomeness, so might not be for everyone. I personally think it balances nicely with a decent strap, and didn't mind playing it for an hour or two. For the sale a set of rounds will be fitted, as I'll keep the flats. €1.450 I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Tradewise I might be interested in; stingray with lacquered neck (like early 90s), Music Man Sabre, Fender Flea active, Modulus... electric guitar (Fender strat or jazzmaster per example)... Otherwise, surprise me..

Often the sellers in that kind of shows know exactly what they have and what it went for on ebay or other auctions. Why bother to bring it in to a low-ball shop instead of offering it for auction themselves? I don't get that in the first place, but probably it's all a made up situation to make the show kind of interesting. The bass looks like it could be a nice one.

Is this EBMM STINGRAY 5 H real or fake?

Buying a "MusicMan" for £50... That's already the answer to the question I guess Besides that there are indeed many aspects different from a real one. -
As there is quite some variations of styles it's really hard to choose. Ballad-wise I go with soul to squeeze. For the good old funk I think backwoods is my all time favorite. Should I only choose one; backwoods... Or maybe show me your soul or soul to squeeze. Maybe we should make this easier and choose one of each album/era 😉

I have a spare set of original Fender Jazz Bass grey bottom pickups from 1966. They origin from a bass that had pots dating back to March 1966. The pickups come from the same bass and have been a set since the instrument left the factory. These pickups sound great. I've had them installed in a assembled '60s jazz until recently. They have the great warm jazz bass sound, but sound great when solood too (nice snarly bridge pickup). The leads are still the originals with original length. Asking €1.250 for the set. I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Ps: the original loaded control plate 100% original) that these pickups originally have been connected too, is also available
