3.
Nice project! That's been painted by rattle cans. The finish you see is "orange peel" effect. It's what happens when you spray with the can too close to the work. I've painted a few bodies with cans. But to be honest if you're wanting a perfect finish you can't beat a pro job. After all the cost of paint and other materials and your time it's money well spent.
Yes, definitely. I would not do it myself. Spending all the money on the materials etc for what would probably be one off - I might as well pay somebody who actually enjoys it and does a great job.
4. Traded basses with Josh between UK and Netherlands. Great, honest guy. Deal with confidence folks.
5. Thank you very much for the tips. Andyjr1515, that blue looks better on the photos than real life. To me anyway.
6. Neck straight, but not so straight, slight relief. For me low is the lowest I can get without the strings buzzing anywhere. The lowest I've had was a Manne Newport Satin Bass, that was around 1.3mm on the E string, above the fret where the neck joins the body. My P bass is just over 2mm and that is low for me too.
7. I like it. It's catchy. The bass could be a little louder/more exposed but everything works fine together. I do not have facebook though, so no voting for me... All the best!
8. Still available
9. Oh, thanks. I don't know how publishing works - can I buy it off you? Or is it not worth it?
10. That's cute. Good luck with the sale!
11. This is amazing, thank you so much. Have a listen to SRV - Couldn't stand the weather, I've always thought the bass line is pretty busy in that one... Tommy Shannon, great player.
12.
Almost...I reserved for buyer, but he gave up at last..
Sorry to hear that, good luck with the sale.
13.
Ah yes I miss her indeed, a lovely player - really liked this bass and was a good close resemblance of my old 74.
'74? I was sure you said '75! (I hope Luke doesn't want his money back!)
14. My friend buys/sells on discogs too. I think he said it's international, so you'll never know where it will go. Get your packaging ready.
15.
Interesting suggestion, not sure if I'm a fan of the painted body though.
Dont look at the white falcon then! :-)
16. I thought this sold few days ago?
17. Oh yes! That jazz. Fantastic bit of kit for the money! Good luck with the sale Luke.
18. What about Gretsch? I played few from that range and they are outstanding quality and sound fantastic. https://www.thomann....CFUW3Gwod9rYMcQ
19. Oh yes, great movie. And the soundtrack is amazing - Hans Zimmer, Lisa Gerrard.
20. Hi folks, I got a bass recently. And I thought I will get rid of it shorty after. However, the bass seems to be of exceptional quality and it sounds very cool. The neck part of the instrument is perfect. But the body... It appears that previous owner has painted the pickup covers - not too much harm done. But the body. I think it's been refinished. Or the original finish was in bad condition and somebody sanded it down a lot. And now it looks weird. Can anyone tell from the photos what finish is it? I am considering getting it refinished when I get some spare money. Or maybe just stripping it down to the wood? Would that be possible? Here are the photos: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP6GUddJ63Go0m89AG8b7ioK1PmyLFzGZLQoIuEtqehbsLyV7_P8zIh600-2tJ-bQ?key=SHByVFF2SFNRLTFuR2V6b0M5dVpEWVJLZlBaNUJ3 Thanks!
21. Cool, makes me think of that scene from Gladiator when he strokes the grass/wheat with his hand. Like coming home sort of thing.
22. Sold a pedal to Max, instant payment, good communication. Thank you for the transaction.
23. I would happily pay 450GBP for it if it's good to go.
