  1. Gorgeous SSII! The figuring on the Afzelia is beautiful. Very unusual to have HPW sig on the headstock. I'm guessing this must have been a custom bass Edit - helps if I read the listing first! 🤦‍♂️
  2. **NOW SOLD** I have finally found a 5 string Fortress One so up for sale is my last 4 string Fortress One. This one is from 1996 - hand built in Germany! This is a truly exceptional instrument - not only is the tone incredible and versatile but the bass itself is very ergonomic and exceptionally well balanced - IMO it is the best balancing Warwick by far - thanks to the extra long upper horn. It is reasonably light too at only 4,30kg/9,47lb. Controls are vol(with push/pull active/passive), blend, bass, treble. The bass is in very good condition, especially for a 26 year old instrument! There are some marks though as you would expect from a used instrument - please check the photos for the few dings and scratches - the things that look like scratches near the bolts connecting the neck to the body are actually just part of the finish as they within the finish - ie you cant feel them under your finger. There is also a hole in the cavity cover as shown. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished - the fretboard is the best ive seen on any of the 30+ Warwicks ive owned - very unusual to see such prominent grain on a wenge board.. The bass has just been strung with new Warwick strings. Details as per Hans-Peter Wilfer: Bass Fortress I 4 string Serial Number A 027943 96 Year 1996 Month January Number 027943 Neck Wood Wenge Wood Fingerboard Wenge Wood Frets Bronce Warwick Frets Nut Just a Nut Brass Version Neck construction Bolt On Body 2 pcs. solid Maple Wood Surface Satin Surface Ocean Blue Pickups active MEC PJ Pickups Electronic active MEC 2 Band Electronic Hardware Chrome Hardware made for Warwick Made in Germany / 08258 Markneukirchen / Vogtland-Saxonia Worldwide shipping available - I will only ship using a fully insured and tracked service for everyone’s peace of mind. The bass will ship in a gigbag packed inside a strong shipping carton. There will be extra packaging inside the gigbag and again inside the shipping carton to make sure this beautiful bass arrives exactly as described. If you have any questions please let me know. Shipping to UK is around GBP100 sadly due to the current fuel prices.
  3. Absolutely stunning! I've owned a fretted one and agree these are amongst the best basses you will find!
  4. 100% agree! I have an 87 JD Thumb 5 string. Best neck I've ever played. Mine has Bartolini Js in it and absolutely sings. All the bass you ever need right there!
  5. These are spectacular basses! I have an older model with a H S pickup configuration and a 2 band EQ. It is effortless to play, ridiculously comfortable with a super fast slim neck and a very versatile and puchy tone. Very similar to a Warwick in many respects. Outstanding build quality too and mine is quit light too.

  7. Wow! Gorgeous Streamer! Bartolini are the right choice for a Streamer IMO. GLWTS
  8. Ritter Royas are exceptional instruments - crystal clear piano like tones, incredibly versatile EQ and stunning build quality and looks.
  9. I have a 5 string Sandberg Ken Taylor - easily one of the best sounding and easiest to play basses I own or have owned! Incredible tone that cuts through the mix like a warm knife through butter Sorry to hear about your business. I hope things turn around for you soon
  10. Yeah I've had similar experiences. The bass you mention wouldn't be a 6 string Stage 1 would it?
  11. **SOLD** Now going even cheaper! Price Drop to only £725 for German made Stage 1!🤪 For sale is my 1987 Warwick Streamer Stage 1 lined fretless. The good news is this is a fantastic fretless bass - it's from the 'golden era' of Warwick and so it has great build quality and the best hardware - solid brass bridge, Schaller tuners, brass nut, EMG pickups etc. The tone is incredible and versatile - active/passive electronics with treble and bass controls. It has so much fretless "mwah" when you play it! The not so good news is that the headstock was broken - typical for streamers of that era. The break in the headstock was professionally repaired 20+ years ago so no need to worry now - the crack has been filled and painted over on the back of the neck so you won't feel it while playing. The other downside to this bass is that it was once played left-handed. Because of this, the owner added a straplock to the lower horn. He put it on very poorly though and I left a big hole when I removed it. I took the bass to a luthier who repaired the hole so the bass was as strong as before. I then painted over this repair to try and make the bass look like new. The color match is not exact, but the repair on the neck or lower horn cannot be seen on stage or from more than 1 meter away. I have priced the bass accordingly. I would add that, despite the details HPW has provided below, I believe the bass was not originally fretless, but was converted to fretless at some point in its life. Also, the fretboard is Wenge, not Ebony. Also, I added the active/passive volume pot - it is a high quality MEC pot as Warwick themselves would use. Here are the specs of the bass - straight from Hans Peter Wilfer (Warwick CEO) - Bass Streamer Stage I 4 strings Serial number M 1108 87 Year 1987 August month Number 1108 Neck Wood Wenge Wood with Maple lamination Fingerboard Ebony Wood(see my comment above) with real mother of Pearl Dot inlays Maple Frett Lines Fret's NO Fretless Yes(see my comment above) Nut Brass Nut Neck construction Neck through Bodysuit 2pcs. solid Annegre (I guess) wood Surface Dark Blue Highpolish Pickups active EMG PJ pickups Electronic active MEC 2 Band Electronic Hardware Gold Hardware made by Schaller for Warwick Made in West Germany / Pretzfeld / Franconia
  12. Thanks for the offer but on reflection I need to make some room before I buy another bass.
  13. Would happily buy it but no idea how to use Facebook marketplace!
  14. Apparently the finish is original. Went quite cheaply for an active Wal!
  15. **SOLD** Up for sale is my awesome Warwick Fortress One from 1994 - hand built in Germany! This is a truly exceptional instrument - not only is the tone incredible and versatile but the bass itself is very ergonomic and exceptionally well balanced - IMO it is the best balancing Warwick by far - thanks to the extra long upper horn. It is nice and lightweight too at only 4,07kg/8,97lb. Controls are vol, blend, bass, treble. The bass is in very good condition, especially for a 27 year old instrument! There are some marks though as you would expect from a used instrument - please see the last 4 photos for the few dings and scratches and there are also some blemishes in the finish on the top side of the lower horn. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished. 16. Now sold! Up for sale is my incredible, very limited and very collectible, unlined fretless Warwick Corvette Standard, Special Edition from 2009 - made in Germany. This bass is number 8 from a very limited run of only 30 basses! It features a beautiful birdseye poplar top over a swamp ash body, maple neck and what I believe is either an ebony or rosewood fretboard. It has passive Bassline pickups paired with an active MEC 2 band pre amp. This is a truly exceptional instrument - not only is the tone incredible and versatile but the bass itself is very ergonomic and exceptionally well balanced - IMO it is one of the best balancing Warwick by far - thanks to the long upper horn. It is very lightweight too at only 3,45kg/7,6lb. Controls are vol(with push/pull for active/passive switching), pickup blend, bass and treble. The bass is in excellent condition as you can see from the photos! There are 3 very small dings which I have highlighted in the photos. There is also one other mark but I dont know if it is a scratch or part of the wood grain- i have highlighted it just in case(see the last 3 photos). There is some wear to the logos on the pickups which I have shown in the photos. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. Details from the Warwick Website: Serial number: C 149812 09 Article number: 0244SX9001CZAPBAWW produced: 24.03.2009 Description: CO Corvette Std, 4-string Natural Satin finish Swamp Ash / Birdseye Poplar body Maple neck Chrome hardware Made in Germany Worldwide shipping available - I will only ship using a fully insured and tracked service for everyone’s peace of mind. 17. Even the neck joint isn't standard - normally on NT wicks the fretboard end slopes gently into the neck then into the body. As for the neck profile, it's a dream! Even though it's a broadneck, the shallow profile makes it so easy to play Even for ham-fisted individuals like me!
  18. Can't believe this is still here! These basses are tone monsters and the pickups are super hot!
  19. Stunning! Regarding the hardware, do you mean the black hardware was replaced with gold hardware or brass hardware - the brass hardware is very expensive and heavy and adds significantly to the sound of the bass. Normally basses from that era had the alloy hardware. GLWTS
  20. Just to update, anyone looking to ship basses from the EU should check out Packlink. There prices are great, they are the preferred agent for Reverb.com and have comprehensive insurance options.
