  1. It looks heavily "inspired" by a Wal indeed.
  2. Sold my Yamaha TRB4 MkI to Brian. Great guy to deal with and happy the bass has found a good home
  3. The alignment of the strings with the pole pieces is interesting... Other than that, looks like a well made bass
  4. Wow! Probably the best looking Spector I've seen! That colour, combined with the wood grain and gold hardware! 👌
  5. Stunning! Normally I love the woods that Wal use but this black finish is gorgeous 😍
  6. BTW, the battery cover is not missing, I took it off to show the corrosion on the terminal.
  7. **further price drop to 375GBP** Up for sale is a nice vintage high-end Ibanez from the late 80s. Research indicates the model number is SR800LE and the serial number reveals it was made at the legendary FujiGen factory around 1987/88. Features: Offset double cutaway basswood body, bolt-on three-piece maple neck, 24-fret rosewoood fingerboard w/pearl dot inlays, Gotoh tuners, AccuCast B20 bridge, one Lo-Z J-style and P-style Ibanez pickups, volume/blend/ bass and treble EQ controls, black hardware. Overall the bass is in very good condition, especially for a 34 year old instrument! All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware - there is some minor damage to the bridge under the saddle for the e-string though - this shouldnt present a problem though as the saddle is set in the correct position for intonation so no need to move it. There are a few dings - see photos. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished. Lovely ergonomic and well balanced bass. Nice and lightweight too at only 3.6kg! The bass will be shipped in a Warwick gigbag, packed within a strong shipping carton. A generic hardcase can be added for a small surcharge. Shipping to UK £55, EU £25 - cheaper options are available if I detach the neck and the buyer reattaches it upon arrival....
  8. **SOLD STP** Up for sale is my beautiful Yamaha TRB4 MkI with the "slapcut". This beauty was made in Japan in 1995. Killer tone and amazing build quality as you would expect from a Japanese Yamaha. The pre amp plenty of sonic variations including user presets that you dial in within the control cavity, and then you can switch between them using the middle pot. Controls are Vol, Blend, Treble, EQ, Bass. The EQ has 3 positions - 1st position = flat, 2nd pos = "EQ1 user definied", 2nd pos = " EQ2 user defined 2". Lovely balance and lightweight at only 3.5kg! Controls are volume, blend, tone, tone Overall the bass is in very good condition, especially for a 26 year old instrument. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished. There are the usual dings but not too many(see photos). As well as some light corrosion on the neck bolts and tarnish on the gold hardware. One of the battery terminals was corroded but I have cleaned this thoroughly. BTW, the battery cover is not missing, I took it off to show the corrosion on the terminal. The bass will be shipped in a high quality gigbag, packed within a strong shipping carton. Shipping to UK £55, EU £25 - cheaper options are available if I detach the neck and the buyer reattaches it upon arrival....
  9. **price drop to 675GBP** Up for sale is my awesome and collectible Warwick Fortress One from 1993. Made in Germany, this is one of the very first ever to be produced as confirmed by Hans-Peter Wilfer (Warwick CEO). Overall the bass is in very good condition, especially for a 28 year old instrument. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished. Lovely ergonomic and exceptionally well balanced bass - the best balancing Warwick by far thanks to the extra long upper horn. Nice and lightweight too at only 3.6kg! Controls are vol, blend, tone, tone The bass is not perfect though, there is some damage to the body as shown in the photos. The damage is NOT structural and is no cause for concern, it has been repaired and you wont notice it sonically or while playing. Also, the cavity cover is a little fiddly to take off but can be done - then again it is passive so you wont be needing to open it very often! The bass will be shipped in a Warwick gigbag, packed within a strong shipping carton. A generic hardcase can be added for a small surcharge. Shipping to UK £55, EU £25 - cheaper options are available if I detach the neck and the buyer reattaches it upon arrival.... 10. Incredible bass! I love mine! You are a little off on the current retail price though - you need to add 950€ for the 5 string broadneck option, then 610€ for the (what I assume are)passive Barts! So that's a rather horrifying 8839,00€ retail - which makes your price seem even more of a bargain!!! GLWYS
  11. I had a similar issue with an Aria Pro II bass. I found a break in the wire on the actual pickup - thankfully it was on the outside of the windings. I simply unwound the broken wire enough to connect it to the terminal, carefully shaved off the enamel coating and soldered it to the terminal. Worked perfectly after that. Obvious won't help you if your pickup is potted or you can't see a break in the windings.
  12. This! I've had a bottle for at least 5 years and it's not even half empty after about 30 fretboard and one very very thirsty large oak coffee table.
  13. That's the nicest piece of walnut I've ever seen 😍 GLWTS
  14. Wow that sounds like a lot of work. Why do you clean your frets so often? Or do you just have a lot of basses? I've cleaned many a fret and fretboard and find using 00 grade steel wool works wonders for both. Here's one I did recently(before applying the finishing touch of lemon oil)
  15. Hello All, So I recently moved from UK to Germany and I am looking for advice please in terms of shipping basses from Germany to outside the EU - mainly the UK and USA. From the UK you could ship a bass in a hardcase to the USA for about £120 and then purchase insurance from a broker for an additional £35. Here in Germany the options seem very limited and extremely expensive- from 350€ upto 450€!!! If anyone has any info on cheaper shipping options and insurance brokers in Germany I would be very grateful. Thanks
  16. Awesome bass! What is the neck material though? Or is it just a finished neck?
  17. Awesome Thumb! The neck sounds completely fine - I guess it is currently setup with no or very little relief and as such, once the tension from the strings is removed, the tension from the truss rod will naturally bow the neck backwards slightly. As long as there is still movement in the truss rod to increase the relief (ie. You can slacken the tension in the truss rod) then all is as it should be.
  18. Actually I think you are correct, especially considering they both have the Bart soapbars which are rare. Yes it is sad but rather inevitable I guess. Who knows, maybe one day the brand will be revived...
