Lovely bass. Wish I could play an unlined fretless!

Its not as hard as you might think, if you have a good ear and half decent technique then its a walk in the park and not really that different to a fretted bass.

Gorgeous SSII! The figuring on the Afzelia is beautiful. Very unusual to have HPW sig on the headstock. I'm guessing this must have been a custom bass

Edit - helps if I read the listing first! 🤦‍♂️

I've been asked again for some more photos to include the electronic/battery compartments and the trusrod area. The electronics are all original and work as expected. The trussrod moves in both directions and the fretboard is set-up nearly flat with low-ish action.

I've been asked what the string spacing is @ the bridge and if the spacing can be adjusted. At the moment the string spacing is 18mm @ the bridge, and can easily be adjusted between 18-20mm. The spacing can also be adjusted more +/- by raising the saddles. I found a new set of Roto Jazz strings in my kit bag so installed them today, plays like butter 😎20220805_160332.thumb.jpg.f5e34cab18790f556a2d7bfaf0d1eec5.jpg20220805_160318.thumb.jpg.57d39626cce45e04d62fb1ccdafd6e95.jpg

I have visited Ken (a gent and credit to Basschat) and played this bass, it's a gorgeous fretless made by Warwick when there was something rather special about the basses of this era. I probably would be getting funds together for it if I wasn't hankering for an early dolphin fretless so much.

I’ve been asked if the bass has an active/passive pre-amp. I should have clarified this in the original post. Yes the bass is active/passive, by lifting the volume pot you bypass the active pre-amp putting it into passive mode.

This beautiful instrument can be delivered to you in a orange Warwick heavy duty  flightcase inside a cardboard box, or for £100 less could be delivered in a Warwick gigbag inside the cardboard box. Alternatively I can meet you at a reasonable distance or further for petrol money. Otherwise you can come down for a cup of tea and collect.
