1. you can get some very good results with most of the Lexicon units I've tried
2. I think the actual music sounds great but the vocal performances from Daltry and Townsend are dreadful...... The drunken Ushers at the gig I played last night sounded far better
3. Jeez.... just watched it on youtube..... they really should call it a day.... pub rock at best.
4. Not quite sure what you mean but I when I'm slapping on a 5 or 4 the technique is pretty much the same..... Damping is on the fretting and the slapping hands
5. yep - http://www.guitarfactory.us/
6. kool.....
7. If I was all over this...... I'd be all over it!
8. I wouldn't say those methods are wrong but you don't want to be throwing cables.... that leads (no pun) to solder joints breaking, especially in cold weather..... and you'll get kicked off tour if the production manager sees you doing this.
9.
I recently discovered that I'm not really that into basses in the way that some people here are. I don't think any less of someone for their particular interest but I just wondered what category the majority of folk here would occupy. As I get older I am more just into the music.... I tried to make this a poll but am failing... help
Lol... I think I know where you're coming from.... I really like my basses.... Status... or Statii as I have a few.... they do what I need though I have a no name 5 string fretless that sounds great.... They work for me and let me concentrate on making music.... I don't get GAS for basses really....
10.
Be careful when winding around your forearm that you're not twisting the cable(s) at the same time. That will eventually lead to premature failure. I coil mine my hand, giving each loop a small 'anti-twist' to ensure the cable coils up with without any twists. It's easier to do than to explain. For any sailors out there it's the same technique used to coil ropes. As mentioned, a cable reel is ideal for longer cables, but a bit OTT for guitar leads.
Never wind around your forearm...... fastest way to get kicked off tour!
11. good on ya!
12. I'm not normally one for reggae.... but that is very very kool..... loving the use of the electric kit.
13. Don't worry about it.... the only thing to do is step up, play, then realise that there is nothing to it..... Enjoy!
14. Looks good to me but it sounds quite expensive....
15. the bass on Moondance is at best..... appalling
16.
Oh come on mate, they went mad! They didn't hear the rest of his sentence which was along the lines of ".. which is both a good and a bad thing.". He had to repeat that bit. I know you're from Essex, and I'm not having a crack at Essex, but they didn't do the stereotype much cop, did they? EDIT: My favourite oysters are from Colchester, as are Beth Chatto's gorgeous gardens, and Germaine Greer lives in Saffron Waldon. Essex is cool
I think saying they went mad is over the top really.... they applauded and there was a slight cheer.... yeah he had to repeat himself but I think that was more of a case that he was stumbling over his own words As for Basildon it's not too bad.... it's places like Pitsea that are a problem
17.
I think you are exactly right. Same thing with "Health & Safety Gawn Maaaahd". Wait till the f***ers get ill and see the claims roll in. "Do Gooders" is another one that pisses me off. See QT last night, the biggest cheer from the Basildon audience came when a panellist said "immigration", they didn't even hear the rest of his sentence.
Thats not quite true is it..... what he actually said was that Britain had been subjected to decades of intense immigration.... that's what the audience reacted too.... Don't be a dramatist!
18. Every time I pop in this forum its more and more like a carry on film.....
19.
i drew a fingerboard and marked on the notes at each fret ,, then i stuck it above my bed
Brilliant!
20. I had a similar problem with mine initially but I discovered that you have to try different input levels and also try experimenting with the parameter controls on each sound. takes a bit of fiddling
21. Agree with the above.... lots of hard surfaces in there, lots of reflection. also if you can try an get some heavy drape covering the ceiling to help.
22.
It may be interesting if someone was to ask HMRC if this money has been declared
yes but unless you're declaring this yourself it could open a whole can of worms...
23. Pm'd address
24. I much prefer john giblin....
25. Terribly sad news....
