1. Now Sold Thanks Ross!
2. Great, easy to read chart.... Any reason why there are not speaker configurations for each cab Alex? J
3.
+1 for Boschma.
+1 here too..... cannot recommend them enough.
4. Hmmm Still prefer the shape of the MK1
5. It always amazes me when I see footage of Motown recording sessions just how many people they used to cram into those rooms with hardly any separation and still get a fantastic sound..... different ball game these days
6. Hi Gary Very kool site you have there... club sounds good, hope to get down there sometime J
7. Just got back from a day of Auditions.... 17 potential tribute artistes.... Found John bon Jovi fairly quickly which is good.... also got some other interesting acts out of it.... some very talented young ladies out there.

9.
In similar vein, I funded (most of) my Big One by selling two Eden D210XLT's. Is a Big One "better" than two Eden D210XLT's? I'd say not. Those two Eden cabs were [cliche alert] absolutely awesome [/cliche]. I'd rate the Big One as being only about 80% as good as that pairing. On the other hand, those two Edens weighed a combined 138lbs, in other words a similar amount to my wife, and were just as difficult to take to gigs as she is. The Big One weighs 43lbs and is on wheels, so I can take it everywhere with no grief at all, and actually use it. In terms of value-for-money, the lightness thing makes a massive difference when you start to get back trouble. I can't compare the Big One to Epifani, Bergantino, and the usual suspects, but then I don't feel much inclination to do so.
+1..... I miss my Eden rig..... but my back loves me more now
10.
Surely volume is measured in cubic metres..?
I thought it was measured in those little bars you get at the bottom of the TV screen..... am I wrong?
11. Seeing him a the o2 on the 22nd.... Can't wait.
12. Hiwatt, the Yorkshire-based amplifier maker, is launching its first ever foray into the tube pedal market with four valve-powered effects boxes: Valve Overdrive. Valve Distortion, Valve Tremolo and Valve Phaser. Hiwatt's Mark Lodge said that the first shipment will be available to retailers in January, but that early samples have already been tried by some of Hiwatt's endorsees and that, "The response has been fantastic!". The pedals (all featuring true by-pass and 12AX7 valves) come with the required 18V power supply included in the price and will sell for SRPs as follows. Valve Overdrive, - £119.96, Valve Distortion - £126.20, Valve Tremolo - £129.28, Valve Phaser - £124.04
13.
After my last public BC complaint, Roland have even put people who can read in their warehouses, so it does work. ped
14.
In all honesty? Yes. I've done it before with Genz Benz. I just find it a more constructive and civil way to do things.
Well I think you'd be in a minority on this forum
15.
I'm sorry to hear you've had all these problems. However, had I been in this position, I'd have sent the whole thing to Alex beforehand to let him know I was about to post it. Just sayin'. I hope you get yourself sorted.
I don't see what the difference is between Barefaced and another manufacturer.... If it had been a review of say an ampeg or Markbass..... should we have to send the review to them before posting???
16. I try to look after my equipment as best I can. My bass probably bears the most battle scars though I'm not sure how as most of my gigs these days are weddings and corporate.... though saying that over 130 gigs this year plus recording and rehearsals. Ironically my cabs (2 x Aguilar DB112) are in as new condition and I thought they would be showing signs of wear. I'm glad I spent the extra and purchased the heavy duty Aguilar covers. As with most bands I guess the component that gets the most wear and tear are cables.... having spent near to £1100 cables earlier this year it does make the difference. Next year we are going with a new desk so that means another custom made flightcase though as the new IEMs will run from CAT5 into pods (Roland) at least we will save some cash on audio cables there.
17. Oh no believe you me they will be paying a fee.... and GM and RW.... I know for a fact those guys will not do anything without negotiating a fee...
18. I thought he was great! wonder how much his fee was for that performance though?
19. I have the MB2 500 and am lovin it!
20.
Ah ok, made me smile, some people slate ashdown a bit, yet if its good enough for Macca, its could enough for me!
Well good enough for his guitarist to play bass through....
21. This is what makes me laugh about Digital systems.... there is far more consumer kit operating on these frequencies than analogue equipment. There are also a lot of other inherent problems with Digital systems such as drop out.... when they do have interference they completely drop off, unlike analogue. Also can you physically switch frequencies... I don't think so. Battery life is normally very poor... though these stage clix systems are aimed at the amateur market rather than pro I guess it's not so much an issue.
22.
£120, meet in Dartford area????
I'd rather not... West Thurrock I can do.
23. Absolutely. The 212 is going to be my main gigging cab next year replacing my 2 aguilar DB112 cabs.
24. Gotta say that after reading the 'review' in BGM this month reminded me exactly why I don't buy this so called magazine. I don't know who Ben Cooper is but the review that was given was absolutely the worst type of dribble I've ever read. He had not given any info as to how the cab was used, what bass, amp etc.... and gave the most luke warm overview of a high quality bass cab I've ever read. Having tried out all the variants of the Purple Chili cabs I must say that I do not believe for one moment that this reviewer even had the cab in his possession when reviewing. I'll be taking stock of some of these cabs over the Aguilar set-up I currently have in the near future and will post a review at that time
