I've also tried the DR Marcus Miller FatBeams. They seem to be a lovely soft string with amazing tone as well. Especially good for Fenders. Rich.
+1 on the Hotwires.... plus decent pricing on bulk buys (6 sets)

 8.
Aargh I know it may look like it doesn't work for you, maybe you have an attitude that makes you a less desirable proposition than musicians that do make money..
+1
 9. You wanna get yourself over to Statii.com...... I'm sure a few of my fellows would love your stuff!!!
 10. I think it depends on several factors..... I could be pro if I wanted to go down that route.... I earn enough money from the function work I do to live well enough.... but as OTPJ says.... having a constant amount of money guaranteed each month is much easier than having that worry over my head. The drummer I play with went Pro a few years back and hasn't looked back. He's now got regular work with a lot of manufacturers (he's Roland's main UK electronic percussion demonstrator) and is managing to make a good living at it. Also the amount of time for me to be away from my family would be a big black mark against going pro..... but then it's down to each individual.
 11. It'll happen one day my friend.... it comes to all of us..... especially when some drunk American twat is waving a wad of £50's in your face at 12.30 in the morning.....

 15. Which model is it? How do you have it connected to the desk? EQ settings/FX/Monitors? Other than that it could be a displaced diaphragm

 19.
Pretty much every day is like that for me. I just sit playing my bass and occasionally going "Whoa, I'm awesome". I have to be careful not to play in any room where ladies are sitting because they tend to slide off their chairs.
Same for me but both men & women.......
 20. I don't agree at all with the rates for gigs..... what are we stuck in the 90's
 21.
Well you say that but its worth bearing in mind that its basically a standard 1998 Fender Jazz Deluxe with a blue paint job and neck LED's. I suspect it might even be a MIM (IIRC Fender released the deluxe as MIM first) but I don't know that for sure. Maybe someone else could confirm?
They were put together by Martin Simms.... I remember seeing a lot of them being sprayed at Iceni in Essex years ago....
 22. If your gonna buy a hand built instrument then you gotta expect to pay for it..... £2k up i'd say....
