1.
I’ve just been checking out videos of the Manta. I’m linking to this one, not because of the content, but just because the bass the guy is playing has the most ridiculous finish EVER. https://youtu.be/-KY8MJ2aC0g
I knew I’d seen that somewhere before...
2.
Ha ha ha ha ha!! Done deal
I’m gonna hold you to that!
3. If you do end up making a custom TonePrint, Dood, you're gonna have to call it "The Sniffles" now
4. Ha! I didn't notice that. Still a decent deal though.
5. Someone grab a bargain https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/152714592321
6.
Wasn't the Bass Synth Wah discontinued? Such a cool little pedal for so little money.
It was indeed. They pop up fairly often on the used market though.
7. I thought it was bad, then I looked at the back oh dear. At least it has an angled headstock.
8.
I always used to think the body and the headstock both looked too big on the BB basses but it's a design that has really grown on me over the years and recently I've been feeling a touch of GAS for a 1025x. To be honest though, looking at this I'd be more than happy with a 425x. Looks lovely!
Yeah I can certainly remember a time when I passed the BBs without so much as a second glance, but in recent years I've grown to love it, so much so that I ended up with one. Visually, the only difference between the 424/5x and the 1024/5x is the bridge. Much though it pains me, I MIGHT consider selling my 1025x in the next few weeks to help fund some hefty GAS. I won't be selling if I can avoid it though!
9. Ah! Well since I own the exact same bass and am currently on my way home to be reunited with it, I shall have to test for myself! It is indeed a hot output bass - if Yamaha sold the pickups as aftermarket parts they'd sell like hotcakes.
10. One of the first things I noticed about the Okto is that when glitching on a note it seems to revert to the unison note (I.e. the pitch you're actually playing on the string) in a smooth manner which doesn't sound as harsh or "obvious" as some other octavers.
11. Also, for less money, check out the Markbass SuperSynth and the EHX Bass Microsynth. For relative pennies the Digitech Bass Synth Wah has some very good sounds too.
12. Danny, what bass are you using to get such low tracking from your octavers??
13. My secret plan to assimilate all bass players to the dark side of octavers is slowly coming to fruition
14. The Okto and the Nøjs are separate circuits, so just stomp whichever side you want to hear. Or stack them, up to you. One thing I discovered when I tried running other octavers into the soloed Nøjs was that the actual "Nøjs" knob adds in another low octave circuit, so in order to stack a separate octaver before it you have to turn the Nøjs knob right down and use the rest of the controls on the dirt side of the circuit to get clean dirt...if that makes sense to anyone??
15. Ah yes, I messaged the seller and that's what they told me too. A part of me wishes it was a legit sale
16. £600 Buy It Now?! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282680485048
17. MikanHanille - http://basschat.co.uk/user/12901-mikanhannille/ - bought the one that Bass Direct brought back from NAMM! Apparently (and rather unsurprisingly) it's an amazing instrument.
18. The Wahoo is a powerhouse for sure. It's a shame it doesn't get more airtime actually as it's so tweakable. Meanwhile, I'm just gonna leave this here... http://youtu.be/bw77brwlcp8
19. Good thing you got in here first. I was teetering on the edge!
20.
Cheers Bill, I forgot to mention that we Brits are a sucker for this irony thing, so perhaps not obviously when I said "obviously" I may not have meant 'obviously'. Clear?
I'm very confused.
