Sorry but I'd need a definite accurate weight, wiki won't do it I'm afraid. Never mind.
If it helps....my medium 32" scale aerodyne weighs exactly 8lbs. Add a bit of extra neck wood weight, maybe a couple of ounces. Terrific bass and benefits with the Seymours upgrade.
Footprint of the body contact area is 60mm x 80mm. The forward corners are radiused, the other corners (by string ball end) are square. Hope that helps, Ian
That's great, thanks Ian

Has anyone got a Babitz 4 string 'fender' replacement type bridge on their bass or still in the box that they would measure up the 'footprint' / area that makes contact with the bass body. The only measurement on their site seems to show the front to back edge including that back edge overhang. I want to change a bridge that has been recessed into the bass body hence the sizing issue. cheers...
Hi all, I'm searching for a Markbass gig bag. Does anyone know of any where that sells them fairly cheaply? I've just purchased a markbass little mark 250 and need to get a gig bag as I'm out gigging next weekend, however I can't afford to spend too much on one. I've seen the Markbass ones for £70, but can't find any cheaper. Don't mind if it's not a markbass one as long as I know it fits perfectly!
Have a look at Thomann then..they appear to be just under £42 for the Little Mark gig bag (plus post I guess) at the moment. I've found it good to use and well made and front and back unzip to fold underneath and the back flap cover kind of 'velcro's' itself to Markbass cabs cloth covering so it doesn't slide off for any reason.
Tried out a bass recently in a shop & ran through a 102hf cab. I've never been a fan of Markbass cabs but I really liked the sound of this one. Maybe the proper HF horn helped a lot as my past experience has been with the lighter, rear ported, piezo equipped cabs. So, anyone using these & care to comment ?
Terrific cabs....stack two and it will likely be all you'll need.....or with the smaller 2x10

eBay Global Shipping....apparent problems from within EBay.
mybass replied to mybass's topic in General Discussion
Thanks people, all in all it appears (even from EBay themselves) that there are problems within their system and whether it is a USA based idea or not, it ain't working too good for the seller/ buyer. I've even had a completely different 'buyer' or scammer asking about buying it now, but I haven't a clue where the item has ended up and EBay said ignore that person. Whether EBay will trace this late mystery offer is another thing, who cares now, at least my money was made safe ' using EBay Global and Paypal', oh goody. -
Beware....EBay recently altered my buyers address to their own UK Global Shipping warehouse, leaving me and buyer unaware. Item appears lost now. Buyer it turned out was actually resident in Belgium but all I saw on PayPal invoice was a UK address. PayPal refunds okay. Not even EBay phone operators knew the address was their own! Global shipping apparently started in Nov 2014 and has ' some minor problems'! I would have thought altering addresses without informing seller/ buyers was bad enough. I've 'strongly advised' EBay to put 'EBay Global Shipping' at the top of their address, not just Unit 1 such n such industrial estate , Derbyshire. I'd honestly thought it was buyers work address. PayPal have blamed Global Shipping but it took a lot of calles and emails to get sorted. Bah foohey.
I think it's probably used to a very subtle extent by most, and probably only really noticed onstage by the player. Remember the recent thread about the sound of bass at gigs from the audience's perspective? Not exactly the best aural experience. A player could use a Jazz bass or a Stingray and the final result, from the audience's perspective, is not going to be hugely different... but it is a BIG difference for the player... When I play, if I like what I hear it encourages me and makes me enjoy it more, and in turn I play just a little better... The compressor on my pedalboard probably has the same effect. Like I said, I play about 50% with an EBS multicomp, 50% without it... It's not that big of an effect at the end of the day! (It shouldn't really be, right? we're talking icing on the cake, really)
I've used it mostly to cut through for a solo here and there, help it cut through the band volume.

Thanks everyone, a mix of interesting opinions.

I have an EBS Multicomp pedal that is good but my ears feel it alters the bass sound. Anyone had one of these and changed to something they feel is more 'true'...?

Recommendation for Monitor Headphones Please
mybass replied to rainbowreality's topic in Accessories and Misc
Hi there everyone, I'm looking to buy a pair of headphones for monitoring music production, monitoring recording and the like. My budget isn't massive so something fairly cheap and cheerful but but will give a clean unbiased sound reproduction if possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I use Sennheiser HD 600 but they cost a bit over £250 (off Ebay) new but have since been superseded. I got these as a friend mixed his album using them and I thought the end result was very good. Cheap n cheerful headphones abound but won't always give a decent real true listening experience. -

Fender aerodyne precision classic edition
mybass replied to scrapyardlee's topic in General Discussion
Posted Today, 06:46 PM Just wondering if someone can help me. I have a Fender aerodyne precision bass but it's not like the one's i've seen. It only has the p.bass pickups which are dimaggio. It's a japanese import and was only made for a few years 2005/2006. I can't find it anywhere on the net,I want to know the value of it as I might consider selling it.
Out of interest, is it a medium/32" scale or full 34" scale? They appear to be around £500/550 new in Japan, £300/350 second hand in Japan on EBay -
Have a lot of this guys music, but this is a real standout record for me..
The Robert Cray Band are a great live band for their music content and tasteful playing, saw them recently at Guildford, terrific.
Anybody know much about these? I found a battered BB300 in a random shop that has nothing to do with musical instruments. Apparently it's an 80's made in Japan P-bass, although I didn't ask to take a look at any serial numbers. I became curious about it when I got home so thought I'd ask here. I'm not sure what would be a fair price for one of these. I'm guessing not much at all.
Generally well made basses...
Recent purchase of DB 751 has led to great joy - but - it hisses (white noise) if either preamp gain or master volume are set over 10.00 o'clock. This happens without any bass plugged in. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this kind of thing - I've tried replacing the valves in the preamp with no joy (and the tweeter in my cab is off. Hmm?
I had an Aguilar many years ago and my sound man complained that it made a hiss out of the DI and changed the output valve. At the time this cured the problem. 'AIRCUOTIX' seems to be well into this problem ........ I figure his comment 'making back' means re-soldering the joints? Good luck, hiss drives everyone mad!

I found this in my stores of old wood and parts. It has obviously had some different hardware. I'll leave the neck screw/bolt 'collars' on in case damage occurs as they are tightly fitted. The wood is 'rippled ash', costs about £80+ these days for the raw block of wood, it has a 'Tru oil' finish. Weighs in at about 4.10 lbs and the neck slot is close on 66.35mm at its widest (17mm deepest). It could possibly take a five string neck though I think this was originally made for a wider four string neck. Postage to be added if not collected.
