1. Cool. I watched the vid with you on the 5 string for sale thread and it transpired that we have Billy Thompson in common!
2. I have just bought an Arco bass from the for sale forum. It is set up to be a 34" scale but I am messing with it to make it 38" scale which is, I believe, 1/2 size. What is the difference between "full size strings" and "1/2 size strings"? Is it just (obv) length or are there tensions and stuff involved? I am thinking about a set of Honeys cos I like them and need to do the Arco thing (otherwise it would be rockabilly all the way).
3.
I also rescued my bow from my old flat and had a shot at arco in the house. It was a lot of fun (I even had a lapsed grade 8 cellist helping out)
'cellists - wanabee bassists, every last one of them. Talk about denial!
4. SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE! I am in London for one night with a bunch of students. I have just booked 6 tickets. Did I mention SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE! ?
Errrrrr - anyone spotted this??? Pino is playing his first gig as bandleader at Ronnie Scott's on 5th October - with hip hop drum monster Chris Dave on the gig - should be immense... 6. £200 + carriage or you are welcome to pick it up
7. Everything was smoother than a smooth thing.
8. I KNEW THAT! I HAVE TOTAL CONTROL OVER ALL MY KIT AT ALL TIMES! I KNOW WHERE EVERYTHING IS. Sorry. I was in a bumping frenzy and forgot it had gone. This desk is totally sold.
9.
None I can see
Someone always writes this kind of thing and this is my turn. If I had not just spent almost twice this much on a 1x12" + Micro head rig I would be all over this like a bad rash. Gutted beyond.................. I used to gig one of these 12" cabs and they are just great.
10. I do not have time to trawl through this to see if they have been offered, but here are a couple of my faves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnM1uNeQVnc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pidL0vSHFkc
11. But back on topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnM1uNeQVnc...layer_embedded#! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pidL0vSHFkc

14. Mike went above and beyond the call of duty to make this happen. He is a top bloke.

16. Pete is putting a lot of time into this. He is essentially prototyping it on his his first build so there is quite a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, but I am cool with that. It is not Pete in the pic, but his Swedish intern who is over for a month.
17. I have a small PA system which I no longer need. It consists of two Mackie SRM350 powered 10" + Horn cabs (inc cases) and a db Technologies SUB 12 Active Subwoofer - 1x 12", 400 watts RMS amp, 40-150Hz, 127dB max SPL, 2x XLR/jack inputs, 2x XLR parallel outputs, 2x XLR HF outputs, dynamic limiter. Dimensions (WxDxH) 520x360x500mm. Weight: 22 kg. There is a stereo crossover in the sub so you plug your mixer into that and then from that into the Mackies. It is a light and useful rig. It will not fill the Albert Hall, but it is fine and dandy for vocals and sax sort of thing for a function band. I am not including stands or leads with these, but could for extra wonga if you wanted them. £700 delivered to your door.
